When I check the vault, it’s said HOU collection has 149 total cards:
10 Master piece
14 Mythic
30 Rare
35 Uncommon
60 Common
When I check “cards” and select the checkbox, so it shows all cards, it’s to have 173 cards:
10 Master piece
23 Mythic (6 labeled as “exclusive”)
35 Rare
45 Uncommon
60 Common
When I check beta.mtgpq.info, it’s said it has 200 cards:
10 Master piece
25 Mythic (6 labeled as “exclusive”, 2 as “not lootable”)
45 Rare (5 labeled as “not lootable”)
60 Uncommon (10 labeled as “not lootable”)
60 Common
I understand the “exclusive” thing, as it seems to be cards to be purchased by lots of real money. I also understand some cards are going to be launched soon, and are marked as “not lootable”.
What I don’t understand is the difference from cards to vault. If 167 non-exclusive cards were officially released, why the boosters I can possibly buy (or get as a reward in events) have a smaller collection avaliable? Is this correct? Or is this a bug?
But generally, the HOU boosters don’t give any mythic anyway. Since the release, I have never been able to get a mythic, neither from free boosters, events boosters or premium packs. The worst drought of mythics ever !
I get this is in anticipation of any kind of booster crafting system that might come later. High value cards are harder to get so we don’t have a lot to use for booster crafting.
This is why the staggered card release is terrible. Not to mention the disparity in actual verses tagged card rarity. Rares released late in the cycle seem to be even more scarce than mythics released at the beginning, and good luck getting any mythics from the final release.
Its like the whole Thalia issue again, but this time by design.
if they wanted to stagger cards, they should limit the later releases to lower rarity cards so everyone has a legitimate chance at them.
I have 6 mythics from HoU out of 17 available via pack draw. Of those, three have dupes and of those three two were duped 3 times each and almost back to back, those two both were available in the “increased odds” bundle early on and I don’t think D3 ever turned it off until the second wave was released. The third dupe occured after the second wave was released then lost.
The second wave was released and available in the boosters for a short time. Then they disappeared a few weeks ago. D3 is aware of the problem but its one of those things waiting on the new dev crew to be fixed. So save your boosters or use them, as you like.
So it’s what I have guessed: bugged boosters. Dunno if it’s worthy save them, as far as I know, boosters are attached to the collection they were created, aren’t they?
I believe that the packs act more like tickets that supply a randomized pool of cards that are made available from that specific set. Not created and tied to the existing cards available at the time they were hoarded. If I understood you correctly that is
Boosters are indeed attached to a pool of cards. However, when the next wave of cards are released in a set, these cards are added to the original pool after the “increased odds for the new cards” offer has ended.
This is not to be confused with Elite Packs where a new card pool is created every two weeks, hence older Elite Packs stay attached to their old pool.
I am hoarding until they fix the carpool that can be looted in HOU packs. I bought 2PP after the sale of new cards ended and didn’t get any new card. But I understand this change of devs is not a simple thing to do… So I will keep hoarding until they fix this…
@Brigby Altough it has appeared in vault the ad of that new HOU cards are available, IT DOES NOT WORK.
Neither hoarded boosters neither new boosters, bought or got as rewards after this ad, get new cards.
When you buy (or get as reward) new boosters they appear in the old HOU banner, that if you filter shows you the first original list without new HOU expected cards.
After you bought them, where did they appeared, in the new banner or in the old one?
Now in vault, only appears the new banner, but once I bought or received a new booster as reward, they have appeared in the old banner, and if you filter there, no new cards appear.
Ruin rat is one of those cards that does not appear in the old banner and it does in the new one.
I just have bought a premium pack from the new HOU banner and got if from there and got new cards.
If you get a HOU booster as a reward or buy it from the special offer with a white booster you receive them in the old banner and get cards from the old list that it is incomplete.
@Brigby will this 4-day promotion be our only chance to purchase these new cards for the foreseeable future, or is there a plan in place to get these cards into the regular packs soon?
Right. You have to buy the new promotion packs to get the new cards. I think once the promotion is done you can start opening your banked packs, but I would wait until it’s actually confirmed that they fixed the issue with the regular packs.
