When I was a newer player I refused to roster Sentry and Rags since their abilities hurt their team. But honestly at the very worst they have a lot of health so put them on a team with Thanos. I also like Rags for his heal and ability to make green charge tiles. I passed on Bagman when he had his pvp event and I’m kicking myself over that now because I got seven covers in that event so he’d probably be ready to champ right now. I have all 2s, 3s, 4s (except Spider Gwen) and half the 5s rostered. I will roster Juggernaut to go with my 1* Storm and Iron Man soon. Don’t really care about rostering any of the other 1s though.
No more than one 1* (Iron Man)
No more than a handful of 2 stars
Several 3*s (Rags, Doc Ock, Squirrel Girl, Sentry, Falcon)
I have all 4*/5* characters
I don’t feel like I’m selling myself short by not rostering all characters. I’d rather just level characters that will actually benefit my play, the champ rewards aren’t that enticing.
This. If they let us champ 1* characters I’d have them all, but I only keep Juggernaut for Deadpool Daily.
I never play with Ragnarok or Sentry unless they’re required, but its ultimately better to have their covers go to champ rewards than to sell them each time. Plus Ragnarok gives you X-23 covers and Sentry gives you Moon Knight covers.
I’m 137 days into the game already.
i haven’t rostered Ragnarok, Sentry, etc not because I didn’t like them but they’re rare, in fact I haven’t seen Ragnarok till now…
i try try to finish some people before getting new ones.
always priorities those nearly expire.
I’ve never sold a rostered character before nor used any micro transactions yet.
that’s what I like about this game, able to achieve much by hard work and patience in sort of short time.
i use command points to level level up a character with only one skill left to reach champion.
i tried once to get a cover, that’s when I learned it was random, lol
so i stop using CP for getting covers. Only upgs
i have:
1* - 8/8 maxed
2* - 12 Champions (2 unrostered)
3* - 6/21 Champions (23 unrostered)
4* - 5 Rostered (50 unrostered)
5* - (17 unrostered)
With Sentry being required for Prodigal Sun, I could no longer refuse him. Looks like Ragnarok will be the last 3* to roster - 5 characters left (Punisher, Mystique, Dr. Octopus, Colossus, Rags).
Juggernaut is my only 1* for Deadpool’s Daily. Still hoping for a 4* version… sigh.
But if you don’t have all the 2-3* rostered you ARE selling yourself short and it DOES affect your play negatively. Or… Don’t you play PVE competitively?
All 1* except for one so I can get the full Deadpool daily reward
5* Hulk & Silver Surfer
There are a some 3 & 4*s I don’t like e.g. Mr Fantastic but I will eventually give in so I can get the rewards on PVE. Sad but true, it’s the way they have designed the game, for full rewards you have to have the full collection :neutral:

I’ve heard player vs environment, but event works also. Though, something Ducky pointed out to me in another thread, the devs have never actually officially used those terms. Story and Versus are the official names. The PVE, PVP names are player created.

Ragnar, Venom, Sentry…
The only 1* you really need is Juggs, get him to level 40 and he can win DDQ all by himself freeing up 2 roster spots.
As for Sentry, he was on my super duper end list until I needed him for the last mission. Then I paired him up with C4rol, holy count down tiles Batman!!!
I have only one 1* (Juggz, Deadpool daily).
I have all 2* (recently decided to roster Bag Man after years of resistance).
I have all 3* (all bar Elektra are champed).
I have all 4* (I started playing before there were any 4*, so it’s been a somewhat gradual accumulation for me)
I have all bar one 5* (none champed; lacking any new Spidey covers)
I’m now saving ledges and CP in the hope that I may soon(ish) champ a 5* or two.
It took me a very long time to roster Sentry and Rags as I just find them pointless
same wirh Miles and Mr Fantastic
but now the only characters I don’t roster are all the 1* characters except for Jugs who is needed for DDQ

Thanks to Bonus Heroes I ended up rostering and in fact champing all 3* prior to Elektra. Elektra I very nearly didn’t roster because she is terrible but then the game threw 5 covers at me and I had a roster spot come free so, hey ho! At least at some point she will give an LT when finally champed.
I champed Rags last out of the 3* but have still yet to actually use him.
I champed Sentry because I could, still kinda fun to use with Carol if my enemies can last that long.
- Any 1* that is not named Juggs or MBW (have 5 copies of her just for sending TUs)
- Bag-Man
- Any 3* what wasn’t in the current packs (only valid during the vaulting days)
It was the compromise I reached with my OCD between using in-game resources and the “Gotta Catch 'Em All!” mentality of the game.
