It was only a ‘fun team combination’ suggestion. Let’s not descend into this debate again here. Take it to the ‘These characters need to be nerfed’ thread.
I realise that a great many players aren’t really interested in the pick 3 game, but here it is for those that enjoy the synergy experimentation, and don’t want all the synergy presented in 1 busted character.
@Jarvis_Jackrabbit , thanks, I’ll try Avengers tower on him. Ideally Cart needs to be on him for the extra red AP with every fire, but I’m sure avengers tower will make for a better head start to the match. Will just have to see if it fizzles or whether it can sustain.
You brought up how 4a5* DD’s powers became less effective through ascension. I commented on that. But, I understand if you don’t want to sift through 8 pages of me and eb debating word choices, and I’d just be repeating myself anyway. So, I’ll move on.
Avengers tower doesn’t need to be on iron man. You can equip it to any hero, you just don’t get the perk of adding 2 random red tiles to the board every time iron man fires a power.
I realize…no one needs to do this. But maybe we should consider starting up some new threads or something determined by base tiers (maybe) and teams to use characters in, just because this one is now up to 3103 posts.
It’s a bit hard I guess to decide who the hub of a team is, but maybe it would be useful to add the team to a character’s thread when you think they are the main new piece or difference-maker.
At minimum I would suggest listing the characters’ names in your post so that a search gets hits for them and not just rely on an image to be enough. (I am not calling anyone out on this, just thinking through how to make this thread a bit more user-friendly).
Another option is just to start a new one every year or every 6 months. I definitely appreciate everyone who contributes to it/the fun team genre.
I haven’t been on this thread in a long time, but I used your idea and I swapped in a 550 Kang for Venom, since my 1a5 Venom is only 480+. The team hits hard, and for any purple or blue tiles accumulated during cascades that happen, Kang will be waiting to use it.
This one may have been mentioned before, but using a Nightcrawler with purple supports and 4Jugg and Sam is a pretty fast win with some fun cascade potential. Helps if you’ve ascended the 4s, of course.
These wouldn’t work so well together without the specific supports but I’ve not lost a match yet. Can go winfinite on turn one if you start with three purple/blue and have a little bit of luck but even without winfinite, the combination of Sam’s traps and wars traps are pretty good at shutting down the team quickly and then Agatha’s purple (which is getting fuelled by the extra ap I’m getting from snack cart and blights will) is a nuke anyway especially when triggering wars green. Not very good on defence though :0)
This team pretty much gives it to you however you want. Want big match damage? Agatha’s yellow increases match damage for every match and namor’s green increases cascade match damage. Winfinite? Yeah we got those by cascading. Stuns? Got those too with War and Agatha. Need to clear the board of enemy tiles? War and Namor got that. Need big damage to invisible enemies? Just destroy Agatha’s purple repeaters. Need nukes that escalate? Namor’s black gets STUPID big. Quite frankly if you’re using a board destruction team and ph5 Namor ain’t there, there better be a darn good reason. Rainbow is covered and almost all the powers are really cheap. And they can speed themselves up and manipulate the board.
I’m playing around with these three with War boosted in PVE, but it seems as though I’m somehow missing the optimal way to utilize them. Are you prioritizing green for Namor or War, or are their green abilities being used situationally? Same question for purple between War and Agatha. What color are you ideally adding to the board with Agatha’s blue?
Edit: These three just got wiped twice consecutively in War’s required node by Fury and two goons, so I’m clearly doing something wrong.
Thanks for the suggestion. I had been using WAR/POLARIS/KAMALA and NAMOR/COLOSSUS/EMMA3>4. I hadn’t thought of AGATHA. I still prefer that first team because between WAR and POLARIS, they fill the board up with SAP almost immediately and then the passives for POLARIS and KAMALA do insane damage when you destroy the board. I did swap EMMA out for AGATHA though. I still hate to waste COLOSSUS’s black, but the match damage ramps up even quicker and he’s good on defense. My original team seemed to scale up NAMOR’s black very quickly by using EMMA’s yellow double swap, but AGATHA advancing the match damage and throwing out repeaters works well.
