Cage ascended to 5, at high level, is one of the best characters in the entire game. At 672 his black hits for like 250,000 damage, and his yellow was like 400,000.

So if in the 2025 Rebalance Batch 1 1* Hawkeye was buffed.
and in this current 2026 “Batch 1”, he is nerfed
Does that mean Polaris will be buffed in a future batch? 
On a more serious note:
Polaris was my first, 4a5 characters. (followed by Juggernaut)
I haven’t ascended all my 3* characters to 4*, but Iron May is one of them.
None of my 5* characters are 550
But guess who are at 500? Frankie-Nova, Shang-Chi, Kang, mThor, …
The point being: Many players have been chasing sweet (meta) characters for years.
When you change the character’s recipe to be “Now with 10% less sugar”
It leaves a bit of a bitter taste.
If you add chocolate chips, to the day old oatmeal raisin cookie, physiologically that is less bitter.
OK clearly I need to go eat something.

I know what the point is, it’s just not relevant enough to justify nerfing it.
It’s not a good power, not in his OP form, pre buff or here.
Nerfing something that sucks 98% of the time is wasteful.
Have red lift a crit tile off the board and place where its needed but the match doesn’t generate AP. Useful, not abusable, not infinitely repeatable but can synergize with other characters too.
whatever the answer, this change to red aint it.

It’s absolutely a bait and switch. They didn’t just come up with this nerf yesterday to May or HE. But they made damn sure to run those deals and vaults knowing that those were 2 top end meta characters, that people wanted to roster and build, BEFORE announcing any changes. And considering the news doesn’t launch in game, even less faith it wasn’t intentional to milk whatever was left.

I don’t think he can trivially go infinite anymore, and now I expect to lose to him a lot less, if at all. Combined with the nerf to May, I’d say that I got exactly what I wanted.

I dont see how winfinite is unfair but getting killed on turn 1 or 2 isn’t. Hawkeye has no health and will get killed unless he managed his purple tiles well.
Killing 350k opponents 20k a hit dont feel op to me. Hawkeye was my only shot at beating content so this bums me out severally.

I also think the Devs should probably put their blog up. It would be appropriate to share your current vision for the game. Get in front of the narrative before the community makes the narrative for you.
