Anniversary? Not so much!

I would like to start this thread with saying that I am so enraged that I don’t care if this comes out as a complaint or whining topic.

Well, I got home from work today, a bit excited for the next PVE event. Being it is an anniversary week, I really got my hopes up. Seeing as the first PVE was nice and we had anniversary tokens, I thought “Hey, here is your chance to push further into the 3* land!”. But what do I see when I come home? VENOM FREAKING HEROIC! I was disappointed at first, but then I thought “What the hell, let’s see the rewards”.

I go ahead to check the rewards and it is the crapiest of the crapiest of crap. Where to start:

  • No anniversary tokens.
  • Only one recruit token at 15k
  • Useless 2*
  • Another stupid GSBW at max points

The only two good things are Lcap (Nothing special here, he has been given out before) and Double ISO (Which is the only thing that I like this anniversary). Moving forward and let’s say I take all this. After all, it is another disappointment. I blame myself for expecting too much from D3 (First two events of anniversary I actually liked though).

So let us play then right? First node is down. Let’s start the grind. Open second node. Enrage and flame D3 for 10 minutes. Flood alliance chats with more flames for D3. Reason? Well, even though I have 7 maxed 2*, one juggs and 22 3* that are 3-7 covers each, I ONLY HAVE TWO PLAYABLE CHARACTERS. GSBW and Thor **.

Now I know there are buffed characters here, but, ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Do I and everyone else in this forums look like a child to you? Seriously, you talk about anniversary weeks and parties and rainbows coming out of our butts and then you go ahead and do this? This is your idea of a party? Lock me out of an event? I don’t give a crap about the rewards, they suck anyway. But I DO want to play. I want to be given a chance. I play 165 days and suddenly I am not eligible to play this event ON THE FREAKING ANNIVERSARY WEEK? What kind of joke is this? Are you having a good laugh in your fat revenue chairs? Are you really enjoying so much screwing us over and over again?

My biggest, most desired, yet unanswered question is this: WHERE EXACTLY IS THE FUN IN THIS ANNIVERSARY WEEK?

Don’t come out and say the double ISO cause I will flame you right in your face. I am just holding myself back from doing it now because I still hope there is some reasonable explanation to all this. Except from the part that you locked me out of my LCap covers. And I already have 7 on him. So this event would give me at least 2 more. He would my first usable 3*. I so much want to curse you right now and I am doing it, but I think I am educated enough to hold myself back on that.

But I really do hope that you lose more than half your revenues from this stupid STUPID crap that you do. I really wish you have to fire half of your crew, hell, even close down and fire for bankrupcy. This is no way of treating your customers. I feel so cheated and so powerless that typing this post is all I can do.

At least find the decency to reply, and say something useful. Otherwise, you can take this anniversary and put right where it belongs! icon_evil.gif

Yeah, you know what they should have done instead? Called it an anniversary weekend, get rid of the extra 4 days of double iso and completely remove the bonus season prizes. That way player expectations are fulfilled because we expect to get the 3 days of anniversary events that they wanted to give to us, and everyone is happy.

So ummmm you are miserable and angry because of a Heroic PVE and go on a crazy rant about how much the rewards suck when you cant even play? Shouldn’t you be happy the rewards suck since you wont be missing out on much?

So you are super pissed and ready to quit even after all the tokens and rewards given out over this weekend? Guess everything had to be amazing to keep you from whining.

Also, it’s truly impressive dickery to give out the new 4* character as a PvP reward, and then run two simultaneous events where 4* characters are not allowed.

I am in a top 50 alliance. That means I have to perform at least decently if I want to help others and not drag them down and just leech rewards. I can clear the nodes once with 2 characters playable, but after the scaling kicks in it is game over.

And it doesn’t matter how much the rewards suck, that is no reason to cut down 70% of my power in this event. They where making declarations about this anniversary for months. One would think that they had a pretty smooth week planned for us. Instead they only had a weekend, as NP said, and then same crap all over again. If they want to squeeze profits out of this game for as much as they can, this is the way to go about it. But I really wish the servers catch up on fire and they lose it all. They do not deserve any of the money people throw at them. The least they could do is make this week work as intended. If this was what they had in mind, then they should’ve at least kept quiet and not get the community so hyped for nothing.

I do not have the best roster for this event either. However, I do not believe they looked at my roster when deciding which characters to feature in this pve. Also, I’m guessing a lot of people are in the same boat roster-wise for the pve. So, if we are at a disadvantage, a lot of other people will be equally disadvantaged. Conversely, I’m sure other Heroics I have had better rosters for those events and others were the ones at the disadvantage for those. Regardless, Beast is still not getting a drop of ISO from me.

I’m not doing cartwheels right now, but I do agree this weekend was a blast. I will wait till the end to decide how the rest of the anniversary was (give them at least a little more time to react to the situation).

The basis of Heroic is limiting ones roster to a small population. There are 8 characters, you need three. The fact that you are missing 6 of 8 is not common. They tossed a ton of GSBWs out in the Deadpool PVE, 1* are very easy to get as are the other 2s, so even someone is missing a character, pretty easy to go get a couple players. The only ones ppl might be missing is Mohawk and Beast. You made the decision to sell your 1 and 2* instead of using HP to have more roster spots. Who knows maybe you wanted to buy 3* covers or shield hop, you made your choice and this time it came to bite you but don’t act like having 3 of those characters are super rare.

I keep forgetting that Hero Point fall off trees and that Roster Slots are not ridiculously overpriced!

The two main reasons I am so enraged are these:

  1. It is the ANNIVERSARY week, so no one should be “locked” out of an event. It is a party, why the hell am I not invited?

  2. I am playing for so long in this game that I should not be left out of events. 30 characters slots is more than half of what they offer. Why the hell am I still not eligible to play your stupid game?

A hell of a party to throw. Of course, it is. They are getting the big bucks, eating cake with Trex and drinking the wine. We are just the nerds that are never invited but we do all the background work. Let’s just sit in our corner and eat some left overs IF there are any.

I never shield hop, and I spend all my HP for roster slots. I only shield every now and then when I need the cover really bad.

But listen to you. This is a PVE event for people to transition, and me, as a transitioning player, I am left out of this because of, what was that now? Oh yeah, I don’t have the covers THEY need me to have. So let us hope the rotation will catch up with my roster so that I can progress a baby step every now and then. And yeah, the alliance has requirements. So, if I want to keep progressing and stay in T50 with them, I can’t just under perform in an event and ruin other people’s games.

I am OK with the way the game works. I know this can happen. I have made peace with everything. But I can’t accept this happening on an Anniversary event.

PS: By the time I get that character they want me to play with, he will be so useless and I will be so far behind that I might as well not even bother in the first place.

I have a confession to make: I think I might’ve taken some of it… like a lot of it… probably too much. I’d give you some if I could, but it’d be used fun, and “used fun” just sounds like all sorts of ick.

I agree. Letting people buy a 50 HP token with better odds than any other recent token, and has already given some people 2900 HP back, is definitely how you milk dem dolla dolla bills out of everyone. Giving everyone a free token is literally extortion. Okay, only semi-literally extortion.

Double Iso is literally extortion.

You’re thinking too small, here. What should really happen is everyone should stop enjoying everything about the Anniversary full stop. We need to bar people from finding joy in the Tiny Arms animation, even, because if they continue to do so, the terr’ists win.

While I admit choosing a roster restricted event opposite another (oddly) roster restricted event is probably not the best plan for anniversary week. The game has always always favored those with a deep roster. This is nothing new, yes the slots are expensive and we all make hard decisions on who we keep and who we let go but heroics are part of the game, and if you literally cannot play one, then I kinda am jealous of you because you can say tinykitty this event I am going outside, and going to get extra sleep tonight. maybe I will take a nap outside just to show them!

Sorry you aren’t having fun with this one, hopefully the next one will be better.

Of course, though that depends on the actual point being made, so I can see why you might find yourself on the wrong side of that.

I think that making the PVE progression tokens non-Anniversary was a stupid mistake, especially for something as visible as an Anniversary event. Same goes for copy-pasting old CA PVP rewards into the Anniversary week: stupid mistake. Those mistakes aside, I’m liking the Anniversary a good bit.

Flailing about how the devs should go backrupt because your roster doesn’t account for the nature of Heroic PVEs? How laughably absurd.

This is exactly my point. If I was determining what to throw it wouldn’t be a heroic event but to get pissed at D3 this soon after the GREAT weekend they gave us is short sighted IMO.

Thank you for your reply, Mary. I only asked because you always seem to rush in to defend D3 against various criticism. I can certainly sympathize with the OP since I’ve encountered many frustrating things in the 11 months I’ve played MPQ. I’ve gotten so frustrated that I’ve wished for this game to die out many times.

You all act like they had a choice for the pve. The fan voted was dp vs. Therefore, to not have a gap, heroic pve was the only real choice aside from no pve. Y’all do remember the truncated hulk pve and how bad that was, right?

We’ve recently done all the heroic pve’s, so it was going to be a recent one. Due to the time constraint (a new one probably starts Friday), it was going to be one without sub’s. I rather venom than juggs. As far as roster restrictions, yes, it’s a heroic, it’ll be restricted.

As far as CA tokens or rewards go, you can give them a little more than 6 business hours to determine if there was a problem and what course if any they want to use to address it prior to making an announcement.
