Battle for the Ages doesn't count as PvE for journal quests [Investigating]

Playing BftA this weekend and completing levels is not advancing my 600xp quest “Defeat 6 opponent(s) in PVE events.”

I wondered if perhaps only levels taken from Story Mode were not advancing the quest, but that’s not the case: I just won against the “Trapped in the Tower” level from the PVE event Fables of Eldraine, and this did not advance the quest either.

Can confirm. Played through Battle for the Ages 3 times this weekend and it never incremented my journal quest to defeat opponents in PvE events.
