Dealing with 4 stars and the choices to make?

Hey all I have recently dabbled myself into 4 star land champing my first 3 4 stars. The Anniversary was good to me with iso and I have 400k saved up for another champ but I’m torn on my next choice
I champed
Hulkbuster
X Force Deadpool
Red Hulk.

I have covered
Quake
Winter Solder
Nick Fury
Jean Grey
Star Lord
Venom
XF Wolvie
Ghost rider
Devil Dino
Professer X

I have a spare cover for Ghost rider which is black and he is on 4 black
I have a spare for XFW

I have 12 covers on She Thor with 2 red spares but need another yellow/blue
I have 11 covers on Peggy and will get a spare in the PvE but it will be another blue and Blue is at 5.
Iceman only has 10 like moonknight

So what should I do with the ISO?
I’m guessing lvling Jean Grey would be worthwhile or Quake but shoud I hoard ISO until I get a spare cover?
Would love to get Peggy champed but need 2 covers
I’m pretty sure Quake and Jean Grey Should be the first targets but I’m really now sure where to go.
I mainly play PvP if that helps

I don’t have either of them covered, but I think your instinct of Jean and Quake are the right call. GR is very nice for boss fights and can pull out a win at the last minute if you’re facing a tough PvP battle, but those other two are far more useful.

For PvP, I’d prioritize Jean. Quake handles specials and has board disruption, but she’s more of a counter. Jean is universally annoying to face.

Normally I’d say Jean, but in your position, honestly I’d go XFW. Hulkbuster Jean used to be the King and Queen of PVP, but their glory days have passed, both with the introduction of more viable characters and the fact everyone knows how to deal with them. Plus, Jean is very squishy for a 4*.

Now to be clear Jean isn’t a bad choice and you’ll want her champed sooner or later. She shuts down cascades against anyone aside bosses or Surfer, her green is solid, and her purple is increasingly good against the growing countdown heavy 4* field and the tile spamming PVE. But she’s got low health, at this point everyone knows how to play around her, and she only pairs with one of your 4*s.

It’s been a long time since the game was X-Foce Puzzle Quest (I remember the days when Surgical Strike drained enemy AP and gave you AP, those were dark days). However XF-Deadpool was practically made to pair with XFW, as a Countdown for What into Surgical Strike is practically guaranteed to down one enemy, with a solid chance of taking two.

I’d just use the GR cover to get his black to 5 and get a little XP in the process.

As to the rest:
I have Venom champed, but he’s turned out to be the Squirrel Girl of the 4*s. He’s strong in a specific niche, but it’s not one that’s seen in PVP. If Cage and Thing ever rise to high play Venom might see his day as a hard counter to them, but as it stands he has a decent yellow, an okay green, and a black that’s a liability (can you say OML) unless you pump 5 covers into it.

Star Lord’s upcoming boost makes him very interesting. Making his yellow a reactive both boosts your side and makes him scary against power spamming foes, plus it’s a win-win when paired with Kingpin.

Devil Dino is great when boosted. Shame that only comes once a year.

Thoress and Peggy are both amazing characters and they should jump up to #1 on your priorities once covered.
