On a more serious note: depending on TU’s to win is kinda backwards. To the point where it’s near impossible to win without them, That is. But I’m not gonna discuss this point.
Also, only 1 (or 2) person(s) in my alliance has mbw.
Fought a few of them, just nick away at Things health until it is under XDP’s, use a big skill on XDP as to not trigger thing.. then go back to working on Thing
The best was purposely triggering Thing because i had a Trickery TU ready to go and only 3 black tiles left on the board, so after triggering it, was able to match XDP’s tile, i got myself 3 awesome strikes and XDP was neutered.
It is called PUZZLE quest.. not “make it so a 2 year old can beat anyone” quest.
Because: Who do you hit? If you hit Thing with a power, Deadpool puts up a 3K 1 turn countdown to punish you. If you try to hit Deadpool, Thing jumps in front and makes ridiculous shields. God forbid you try to hit the 3rd character on the team, as Thing and DP will BOTH do obnoxious things. Your only “safe” choice is to slowly whittle down either Thing or DP with match damage, which will take like a year because of their health pools. I don’t think it needs a nerf, as its probably one of the only decent defensive strategies available in the PvP meta game, but it certainly is annoying.
DP and Thing will both run their passives if you aim a haymaker at anybody but Thing.
Hit Thing: DP triggers X-Enforcer.
Hit 3rd Character: Thing jumps in front to take the damage and drop protect tiles, DP triggers X-Enforcer.
Hit DP: Thing jumps in front to take the damage and drop protect tiles, DP still triggers X-Enforcer because he didn’t take the damage, Thing did. (This has been tested – see the 4Pool character thread)
From what I’ve seen, the only really reliable way to deal with this combo in a timely manner is with thorina. Cus of her stun and nuke. It’s quite sad that that’s the only viable option (probably) when you need to finish matches fast. And not relying/hiding behind TUs to win matches FAST.
Buffed DD made these fights pretty simple.. get a trap tile out, when you are rdy to match it, billy club XDP and match trap on Thing. repeat as necessary, just remember to switch to XDP when the BC CD resolves so it is always XDP who gets the stun. OR you can reverse it, BC thing and hit XDP with the trap.. whoever you are more afraid of takes the damage..
onlt caveat, AI matches it themselves or CD to ? over-writes
The bummer part is that XFDP doesn’t have to have higher HP than the person you are targetting, so no more bouncing back and forth between him and Thing chiseling them down to be below each other. XFDP is annoying until he’s dead. Where you can trigger Thing on purpose to flip his tiles with Loki, there’s nothing you can do with XFDP tiles except match them away or extend them with OBW or stun XFDP before you do any big attacks.
Could you please wait until XFDP is no longer getting a buff before trotting out your nerf signs.
It really is impossible to know whether a character is unbalancing until after their featured PvP and the first month buff is gone.
The Nerf Herders were out for Carnage right after release because they KNEW he was going to be game changing. Except he wasn’t because once all the buffs wore off he just became another mid-tier 4*.
Nobody knows at this moment whether XFDP needs any adjustment.
Is it because you didn’t want to add a Loki to your party? I fought a Thing/4P/Hood and got my ass kicked, but mostly because I decided not to switch up my party for the fight (Hood/4P/IMHB).
And if you have 4P tank the damage you can recover it later. If you don’t have 4P tank the damage, the X-Enforcer loop continues and you hit them back with another one. Of course, if you brought Loki along for the ride, yours should be able to hit harder than his after making Grimm poop out those protect tiles a couple of times and stealing them with Trickery.
I think the team to be afraid of would be XFW and XDP.. CD to ? + SS = bye bye.
The only team i skipped was XDP/XFW/JG … JG’s passive scares me more than XDP’s, at least with XDP, you can let XDP eat it, then heal him with his red.. if JG’s goes off.. everyone is hurt, and sure XDP puts out 2 tiles, but it turns into a passive-fest.. getting slaughtered by passives is no fun way to go.. would have preferred fighting Thing than JG, at least with Thing there is a counter (match the tiles away, or steal/convert/destroy)
