Maybe it was bad luck, bought another 300 pack. Rare in second pack … dread wander … guarente? SAME FUCKING CARD. how in the fuck do I get 1 rare in the set x4 ALREADY??? in 10 packs!

Much as I might sound boasting for not having the same level of misfortune as you, I agree with you regardless.
I bought 20 packs in total, and already got, I don’t remember, 4 or 5 dupe rares, one of them probably being triple dupe?
Including dupe mythic, btw; this is why in another thread I said I’m not buying that 400-jewel pack because one of the cards offered there is something I already have.
I’m with you here. When I bought my packs with banked crystals, 4 copies of Channeler Initiate. Then when I claimed my rare from the event the same day? Another Channeler Initiate. 5 of the same card in one day. It’s mighty frustrating indeed.
I bought 10 PP of AKH and I think I have almost a play-set of each new rare land. I only have 9 none dup rares.
This is just example 2340982352 that the game is biased towards rares and mythics one already ownes. I just opened my banked 52 KLD boosters and 1 KLD super pack. Only 1(!) new card. Just ONE. I got multiple of the same rares and only openend two mythics, one of which was my third Kambal. I only have 4 KLD mythics. Can you imagine?? With the new mythic, I have 5 now.
So, with 4 existing mythics out of a pool of 40, we’re looking at a 10% chance of getting a duplicate.
With those odds, you opened 2 mythics and got one dupe.
Far from a smoking gun isn’t it?
I think the reaction is less about “smoking guns”, and more about perception and balance of probabilities. I heard yesterday from someone in my coalition about their only two premium pack purchases from AMK. First one, a mythic and a rare, plus a bonus rare - great! The second pack had another mythic, and it was a duplicate of the first; the guaranteed rare was supposedly also a duplicate of one of the first two rares he got.
Sure, still not a smoking gun, but for the person it feels bad. And despite the fact that, probabilistically, this sort of thing will happen to someone, as an individual you never feel that it should happen to you. I can’t imagine you’re incapable of understanding this, or understanding why someone would react negatively to this experience.

Your coalition mate had something like half a percent chance of getting two of the same mythics in a row. Machine’s chances were closer to 20 percent. That’s 2 orders of magnitude difference.
That’s the problem. Some people are genuinely unlucky, and others are just jumping on the bandwagon just because. And you guys enable this by supporting everyone, with or without genuine outlier luck.
There are limits to empathy, madwren. You try it. How much do you empathise with someone complaining to you they didn’t win the lottery?

It seems every time i am ready to make a rebuttal to a certain player that i am sure would have me banned for a violation of forum rules, you manage to pop in a great witty comment. I honestly think you should offer your services IRL to some people so they can avoid getting throat punched by everyone they talk to.
along with all the dupes that we are getting, i would like to know how we are to complete out expert and master decks. they are all set to standard but i think that we should be able to edit them in order to fill them. we will never get the cards needed to fill them otherwise.
Problem there is they asked the community for decks for the planeswalkers, then had us vote on which decks were best without bus knowing what the motive was. So of course people designed dream decks that are full of mythics that were event exclusives and some not even in the game yet, and we got these decks as a result. I would venture a guess that over 90% if players will never fill out Master Decks.
I’ve been stuck at sub 500 cards for a month now. I’ve opened around 25 akh packs and received 2 of the rare lands, and one pretty cruddy creature(R), no mythics. Also, every single pack in the last week has been 98% dupes with no rares or mythics to speak of, not even dupes. Seems like this is our new way of racking up runes.
I’ve got 61 akh cards and 30 dupes of those cards so far. I think the only thing holding me to this game is curiosity about what they are going to do about dupes.
That’s also one of my main reasons to stay. If the new dupe system doesn’t mean squat I bet even more players will quit. I’m already stressed out by keeping up the pace with this game, not wanting to miss out. 4 nodes FirF? 3 was already a lot to maintain, at least for me.
If the supposed future dupe issue update does not impress I’m done. It is the only reason I continue playing.
I’m guessing 3 more months at the minimum before we see any new system for dealing with duplicates.

I am starting to feel like it will never happen. I feel like if it ever would the introduction of standard would have been the perfect time to do it, depending on the method introduced. Give players a possible chance at the new cards rather than keep with the current awful system and devalued crystal currency.
