Changes are coming to Franken-Castle very soon (like, later today soon)! We’ve got an explainer from Finn and the new details below.
We’re also going to be re-running the offer from his original release so that anyone who maybe gave him a miss at the time if he didn’t seem viable at the time has another opportunity now that he’s been updated.
A word from Finn:
Hey peeps,
I’ve heard your feedback around Franken-Castle and how some of his abilities work, in particular his Green and how it appears broken. We’re bringing some balance and functionality changes to Franken-Castle to make him feel a bit more viable. This required a few changes to his full ability set to keep it cohesive, and to not break it somewhere else.
With these changes, his Green ability, Power of the Stone, now only triggers on matches made by you and the match total, not every tile. With this, the overall power of the ability has had to come down, but it’s still very potent when you get his Rage built up.
Level Playing Field has had an overall boost and redistribution of the damage values. This was done to make it feel a bit more worthwhile and lessen the chances of it needing to hit red tiles to proc extra damage.
Deceptive Trap has had its self-damage lessened as it levels up to make it feel a bit nicer, but now deals a bit less damage to mitigate that reduction. Also clarified in the ability text that Rage is consumed to do additional Stuns.

Level Playing Field
5 RED AP
Sticking with what works, Frank levels the playing field with a Molotov or two… Or three.
Destroy 2 2x2 sets of random tiles. Deal 1196 to the target enemy. For each red tile that is destroyed, deal 310 damage.
(PASSIVE) At the start of the turn, generate 6 rage and consume up to 1 Charged tile(s) on the board. For each Charged tile consumed, generate 1 rage.
Deceptive Trap
7 PURPLE AP
The Punisher draws on what he knows, and what he knows is traps.
Deal 443 to the target enemy, stun the target for 1 turn(s). For every 16 rage, consume it and stun up to 2 additional times.
For the purposes of this ability, Level Playing Field is considered unlocked.
(PASSIVE) If rage is equal to or greater than 17, deal 443 damage to each enemy and 753 damage to Franken-Castle.
Power of the Stone
0 GREEN AP
The Bloodstone lodged inside The Punisher’s chest pulses with demonic energy, recharging and mending him.
(PASSIVE) At the start of the turn, Franken-Castle heals for 532 for every 9 rage.
Consume 2 rage for every Red, Purple, or Green match you make.
For the purposes of this ability, Level Playing Field is considered unlocked.
