That 11th place finish in the hulk is now a double kick in the nuts.
For the record, I had a full 2.5 refresh schedule the entire event, missing exactly five hours when I went out on a saturday. I played about as hard as you can expect and still didnt get a fury, but figured, hey, one fury cover is useless, and there is no way they would be insane enough to make him required…
That 11th hurt my soul and now double hurts my soul.
Both of them aren’t as good without their partners Mags/Falcon but they’re still more than capable of handling their own. Daken being locked out frequently is a pain but he’s abailable enough that he’s a decent Patch fallback and since he’s locked out of some nodes if he dies he dies no need to worry about wasting a healthpack.
Unless #1 to your place are separated by less than 2500 points you missed a lot more than one cycle of refresh in this event, because 2500 is roughly the value of one 2.5h cycle for the last set of subs.
My Patch is currently 3/0/4, my HT is only 2/3/5, and I’ve got one Fury cover, so I’m happy with all of the rewards for this. Hopefully enough people will sit out for me to get top 10.
Once again I’m baffled with the devs choices in this PvE. Do the metrics show that players love 9-day marathons with crappy prizes? I know I don’t, not without proper incentive. If the prizes were even half-decent I might just jump in the first day (mainly for the ISO) and casually grind some progression points each day and eventually land somewhere in top100. But not this time. 9 days of mayhem and only top2 of each bracket get Fury? Screw this. I’ll enter last day and grab whatever I manage. At least I’ll spare myself those eight first days of mindless grind.
I will say the rewards are a little lackluster for me with already cover maxed patch and HT, but I’ll be playing for hp and ISO in the subs. Doubt I’ll get a fury since I’m starting vacation this weekend but probably wouldn’t have gotten one anyway.
No I played it but by that time I was so far ahead of 3rd I could ignore that node if I felt like it. I think I did it for about half the refreshes. The 395 Hulk only nodes where a pain but some of that was my max Pun tanked so many of Patches colors.
D3: Do not try and play around rubberbanding. That’s impossible. Instead, only try to realize the truth.
Userbase: What truth?
D3: There is no rubberbanding.
Userbase: There is no rubberbanding?
D3: Then you’ll see, that it is not the rubberbanding that lets you place top 10, it is only yourself…and hitting each node every 2.5 hours for 9 days straight for rewards you don’t need nor want.
I guess the Fury essentials are aimed at players like me - good roster, not great. Have a few Fury covers around from alliance finishes but not spending any ISO or HP to actually make him playable. So having him in essentials actually gives me a reason to dust off the underleveled and underused for a few nodes now & then. I kinda like it.
I may try that, depending on my alliance standing. Fortunately there shouldn’t be any other events ending with this one, so doing that shouldn’t be detrimental to them as a whole.
Be in a top 100 alliance. A large number of the “top” alliances will probably be going easy on this one since it’s unconscionable to require your 20 players who may already have patch maxed, to try and grind to stay up there for a cover that’s still going to be insanely tough to get (Fury yellow), or covers they won’t need (Patch). I’d say keep your eyes on the alliance forum and see if there’s one with an opening as a hired gun toward the end of this.
Will hit this normally until I go on vacation to northern Maine for the weekend where there is NO cell service where we’ll be. Doubtful I’ll rank the one patch cover that would start making him useful. No yellow makes him pretty useless. The iso will be good. Under 5k for the first time in months
