I think that happens if you join too late when there’s more real people already playing. Or it could just be an MMR thing. But I can usually shake down frowny jonah and compadres for a couple thousand ISO before anything much happens if I join right at the start.
Yeah, I was at my daughter’s school this morning, so it was about 10 minutes after the start of the round. I’ll see if it’s different in the next round.
Lightning round just confirmed what I already knew, I’m in MMR hell. Only played two rounds but the first match I opened when I joined the LR was 102 Hood, 115 Rag, 122 Mag
You have to start the round using your less than optimal team. Use the weakest team that you can that can still win the current team. (Im not sure if you can beat the opponent down with a strong team, retreat, then use a weak team to finish the job. I’m told it does not work.)
I tanked using my 50 IM and Storm. Only got like 5 ppl attacking me, but it’s better than nothing.
Of course singular matches are harder, but they’re harder for everyone else too, so it might actually be easier to place well. I’m asking if it’s harder or easier to place well, not if the gameplay is harder.
Every week I pick 1 villain and only try hard in his rounds. I tank the rest.
I also basically tank shield constantly. I only use sub par teams there. And I am picky choosy about pvp events. I only play seriously in like 1/3. Whenever I play serious I don’t have too much trouble.
I am at least 90% sure it will be harder to place at the top.
The reason? The second last change to pvp allowed players to be attacked by much lower point players. This change benefited late comers and lazy players who don’t want to grind. But those at the top grinding their ass out will suffer when they’re hit.
So I’m very certain it will be harder. And, take away their ability to tank first, well, you get the point.
Of course, if your team is so uber that no one dares attack you, well, it won’t matter.
