Mrs. Marvel is needed for the essential nodes in The Hunt, i didn’t care to get any covers for her since she was 2* so I didn’t play last pve.
Now they make her mandatory in The Hunt and don’t give a loaner Mrs. Marvel to play with so i can’t play any of the essential nodes and I’m screwed on getting any covers for Blade.
Can’t you change the essential nodes to make us play with a loaner Mrs. Marvel so everybody has a shot at getting Blade?
They’ve never done that. It’s always been a matter of needing one character to score well in the next PvE. That said, it really is kind of a dick move to run two “new character” PvEs in a row.
How is this different from any other PvE where you may/may not have the essential character?
I had no idea if it was allways like this, never had this problem before.
Guess i know for the future to get every new character asap.
D3P will always make sure that players do not circumvent anything so that they don’t get money.
You have the wonderful The Hunt packs where you can find Mrs Marvel ! The drop rate is high so she’s guaranteed. 
The real annoying thing here is marking all the essential nodes as needing Ms. Marvel, when previous iterations of the Hunt quite consistently had essentials spread over 2 or 3 different characters to the point where it had become a staple part of the event.

PvE used to have loaners at first until Devs tried the essential route and never went back.
They are pressuring us lately. Ever since the Anniversary, everything has been done to milk us.
More and more sleepless nights and lots of HP spent, I’m really looking forward to changes in events end time and less character releases.

Yeah, seriously, this hasn’t been said enough. Running a PvE (one most people hate, mind you) with a shitty 2* (like, not even Wolverine good) as a top tier reward, and then immediately after running a PvE with a new 3* as a reward? We couldn’t have had, like, a juggernaut heroic between the two with someone else - anyone else that players might already have - as a reward? If it weren’t for my alliance, I would have skipped the last PvE due to lousy rewards, and then missed out on Blade. C’mon, guys.
This be true. Only reason I bothered with the previous PvE was because I assumed Ms Marvel would be needed in the essentials for the next (current) one, and I didn’t want to lock myself out of that. Getting a new roster slot just for her was rather irritating though, and I can safely say I’ll be deleting her and putting Blade in her place once this is over.
You’d still have the same issue if someone good like Sentry was on the prize for PvE, or better yet if they decided to offer say top 10 for a Thor 4*.
The Hunt has varied from the ‘1 essential character for all 3 nodes’ to ‘different essential for each node’ and I see no reason to bet on either format being the dominant one.
This issue makes this PVE very easy for me as all I need to do is just the essentials to stay top 10 in main bracket. It sucks for other players without ms marvel but it also sucks to play 300 days and not one blue hood cover (I tried my best last PVP and used 5 shields but only managed 27th).
That’s because this event is brutal and poeple aren’t going to play it much to begin with. Nobody that’s capable of hitting top 10 in this event is going to have a hard time getting top 150 or whatever the requirement was for Captain Marvel unless they weren’t available during the entire event.
The way The Hunt is structured I can’t see how anyone without a MM can do well on this event. The essentials are worth twice as many points as most of the nodes and are half the difficulty, and with several subs going at once you can’t really hit too many nodes without spending your roster and health packs.
Agree about the “brutality of pve”. I could have pulled 10 packs to get MMarvel and grind but decided to sit out because:
- I really don’t have the time to grind and grind and grind for a whole 5 days (used to set alarm every 3 hrs to maximize points in previous pve).
- Scaling and rubberbanding makes it really crappy to grind
- He’ll come out as pvp reward soon after this!
- It’s not like if i get his covers he’ll be of use immediately since I don’t even have enough ISO to put in other useful char like Hulk.
How did you not see this coming?
They do this every single time.
New characters become essential characters next time.
In the next PVE, you can bet money that Blade will be for the essential nodes.
This is entirely your fault.
That said, you have an out. The tokens for this PVE have a 15% change of getting Ms Marvel.
So if you can get to the 10000 points without using essentials, you have a 15% chance of getting what you need.
Or, if you prefer, you can just purchase a token for 200 HP.
But like I said, you have no one to blame but yourself. Deal with the consequences of your decisions, rather than asking for a freebie.
Problem is, no one expected 2 new character PvEs back to back. Blade wasn’t announced until literally the very last hours of the PvE. So people who started late might get smashed and stuck in already established brackets unable to catch up.
Another issue is that Miss Marvel is required for every essential. Previous incarnations of The Hunt had the essentials require a different character in each (Which was what I was anticipating)
People were waiting for the very end to join anyway. People in my alliance joined more than 24 hours out, and I’m not convinced that bracket even actually ended up closing by the end (I only got 3 refreshes and was top 50 comfortably, despite not having a snowball’s chance at top 20 because ^ like I said, that bracket was open for more than a day)
