Prepare to lose a ton of points to people with scores 500 lower than yours
You basically lose the same amount of point as before (± 5 or so)
Reaching 1200 without using at least 3 shields seems improbable
Overall this just isnt very fun so congratulations, you did it D3/Demiurge!
At least next PVP you moved 10 CP to 575 which is a lot more reasonnable.
1200 still seems too high for top progression now thanks to the removal of those evil cupcakes.
It’s like they want us to play less. Why go early and get those wonderful queue options when you can just wait until the end of the event and queue up all those people for 75?
If their mission was to make me enjoy PVE more than PVP, they knocked it out of the park.
its just that your rosters “tipping” point is A LOT more clear than before.
But it’s not the change that did it, pvp wasn’t very different before, its just that 4 star rosters had an easier time getting to the reward meant for them (cp)
mid 3 stars have NO shot of making it to 800. Champed 3’s are even dependent on bracket.
900 is pretty much for champed 4’s. I don’t even have a champed 4 but seeing champed jean grey when the featured is iron fist just isn’t a good feeling.
I made it to 800 in the sim in one day with my 4 champed 3*. Since then I have lost 250 points, but still I managed it.
Does everyone hate the changes due to the loss of cupcakes? I never saw one (that I know of) so I can’t comment from that point.
The change to lose less points per match I happen to love. The most I have lost on defense is 21 points and that was once. Otherwise it’s been 14-16 points per loss, which I can make up quickly with a few wins of my own.
The loss of cupcakes means that overall, there are less points in your range of people you can queue. Scores are down across the board for everyone, not just for people who found cupcakes before.
Now people are hungry for points but there’s basically not much out there. People double/triple tap a target they find or they’re stuck with the same 5 people in their queue.
I reached 1200 a bit earlier… only cost me 800 HP in shields! Can’t even do more than 1 match before being slammed for -100…
Yep. It sucks. And the problems that caused cupcakes to exist are still there. Worse, actually, because people without the best rosters trying to transition are the cupcakes now. They’re even more likely to get hit. I got to 900, but then was hit for over 200 points in minutes attempting to go up again. Guess I don’t have to buy HP ever again. I’ll take the 10 cp at 575 and call it a day.
If more people spend the extra HP because more shields are needed to hit progression than people stopping because it is impossible to progress further then D3 wins. Vice versa D3 loses. I don’t think unintended consequences of the game is relevant at all.
One of the reasons I though Line chats existed was to check on the number of points that would be won for a match during a shield check. Otherwise, the 45 points you think you will get to cross 1K or 1300 may end up being much less. Without Line, you can’t tell what your opponent will be worth unless they happen to be on the leaderboard or right next to you in the standings. Even when hitting targets right away, point can change significantly. In the two events before Fist Bump I thought I’d clear 1K with points to spare but magically ended right at 999. Didn’t really matter to me but for someone that was trying to plan a hop to 1K it would have made a big difference. I’ve seen many suggestions on how to fix this problem from the community but never anything from the Devs.
If the PVP experience is awful for those with champed 4* rosters, it’s even worse than for those in the rung below.
For a just finished 3and only starting to move into 4 roster like mine, PVP above mid 500 points was completely awful. I started seeing mostly max champed 4* rosters while being hit by those same rosters that I can’t retaliate against. I managed to make it to 880 and while looking for the last 30 points to make it past 900, I got hit back to 780. This was after using 2 shields already. I shielded up again to the end and called it a day.
Yes, 3 shields weren’t enough to make it past 900.
If the Luke Cage PVP is like this, I’m just going to go back PVE. Or maybe just quit the game entirely.
I had a streak of 1300+ per pvp dating back to March of this year. I bought 4 shields per pvp minimum throughout that streak, and need less than 35 4* covers to complete “the set.”
I barely got over 1000 this pvp. If I can’t get cp I can’t transition to the 5* and I dont need the 4* covers so there’s no point in actually playing until this is resolved.
I’m in about the same spot as you, except it was around 700 points for me. I really got stuck at about 750, only seeing the same 5 or 6 matches, no matter how much I skipped. Was trying for 800 and T50, so I shielded and queued up so fights I thought I could win reasonably quickly.
Long story short, I didn’t get to 800 and placed 65th because I lost way more points than I gained during my final attempted hop.
God, I hope that’s the case. I’d pretty much given up on PvP, but the Simulator was roughly 1,000 times more enjoyable than PvP has been in a looooooooooooooong time, and I was hoping that would be the case for PvP moving forward, only to be disappointed in Fist Bump.
I haven’t entered Sticks and Stones yet. Does anybody know if the scoring there is more reasonable?
Um hey, maybe you meant champed 3’s, if so I feel you, if not no.
pvp isn’t a viable option for people below a champed 3 roster and if it is below that, they are barely making it to 300 unscathed.
3 star pvp is a joke of how far you can get before you bump into champed 4 stars and wonder why you are seeing them before you even hit the 3 star target reward.
