Looks pretty useless.
I’ve been asking for FANTOMEX for a while…
The upside to this character release is that it’s not FANTOMEX…
Because I’d like to want to use him if he ever makes it into the game.
Is there an explanation what ‘aerial’ is?
In this instance it’s “above being played”.
He doesn’t need the validation of beig played in your matches to feel important. He’s above all that.
I’ll keep this as positive as possible since the other choice is just too easy.
Glad Banshee is finally in the game. Doesn’t matter that he’s doa, he’s here and can be adjusted (hopefully sooner than later) by the devs.
Is the clue for the new releases no longer a thing or have I been overlooking them somehow?
“Can fly”
And it’s basically 1/3rd of the roster.
On the colours thing, although there are some characters whose colours seem to be defined by their costume the usual is for the colours to be tied to character traits and/or what the powers do.
It’s still possible, I guess, to be in those colours without the abilities being outside of their colour function. Red tends to be focused damage while green is often chaos, board shuffle or AOE damage, so his red ability could have been green for the splash damage at the end.
Blue tends to be technology or intellect based, although it’s occasionally just a catch all for defensive moves and stun, while yellow is also sometimes a catch all for defensive moves it tends towards being leadership, teamwork and team buff themed. The blue ability could be yellow but it’s probably more accurately a blue ability.
Purple tends to be themed around skill, deception or espionage while black tends to be either a cheap way to convey evil or a willingness to sacrifice something for the desired result. The function of the purple power could just as easily be black as purple, and arguably neither black or purple seem to be great representation of how I see Banshee’s character, but probably black is less of a fit for his personality.
As for why not Vox Ignis, I don’t know who that is and I’d guess a great many people do not know who that is. Banshee has been frequently requested on the forum, not just by me. Guessing from the art Vox Ignis is some sort of zombie version of Banshee or Banshee as Ghost Rider? Maybe feedback for Zombie Frank Castle and Frank Castle Cosmic Ghost Rider wasn’t positive?
General comment not specifically responding to SaltnPeppa: would be cool if Banshee did specifically counter Juggernaut. Since Juggs has frequently been part of a duo with Banshee’s cousin Black Tom, it would be thematic. Suppose with Boomerang as a partner Banshee could live long enough to steal some strikes. (Although if that’s your plan why not use Prowler instead for a thematic team that gains from a Sinister Six boost?)
Ban-sheesh
Why can’t the Irish guy have some green? I’m offended for my ancestral people.
I thought it was a airborne related quality. But I don’t feel that’s the case. For example, Agatha is labeled as such, and she can’t fly like say Angel can. He too has the attribute. So it was confusing to me.
Agatha literally flies in multiple instances of Wandavision and Agatha All Along..
It encompasses all kinds of flight. Biological (Angel, one Falcon), Mechanical (Iron Men, other Falcons), Magical (Strange, Agatha), Powers side-application (Torch, Electro), Holding on to a Hammer (BRB, Thors), Winged Horses (Valkyrie, Brunhilde), Telekinesis (Apoc, Emma, Jean). Even Teleporting like Chavez (but not Darkveil).
Even Colossus is in there because it’s the PHX 5 version, so he has flight from being a Phoenix. They’ve researched well.
You have to actively fire Sam’s yellow, it is not auto-fire.
Green Goblin doesn’t have a green power, 4 Black Panther doesn’t have a black power, 3 Dr. Doom doesn’t have a green power. It happens.
It’s because - like MTG - MPQ uses a color wheel for abilities. They do try to design characters with their signature colors in mind (especially when they’re AMERICAN
), but if they want certain power sets to represent their powers, they do adhere to what certain colors can do.
Heck, Demi even had an MTG designer on the team, Dave Guskin. That’s how I found out about the game when he tweeted about designing Beast.
Of course hilariously this Banshee does have an aoe power which is traditionally green as represented in game! Where are the Leprechauns?!?! Whenever I go and stay in my wife’s farmhouse in west Cork there are always Leprechauns to be had, t’be sure!
The primary effect is a single target hit, which is red. Guess they assumed that trumped the airborne part (yellow, blue, green, red all do airborne) and the AOE part (mostly green). If they flavored the AOE as multihit (which would mean 3 separate boosts), it would be fully red.
What about people who frequently shop at Aerie, the clothing store?
I bet that’s some of them.
Soooo…
If you have the supports on to give yourself enough AP, could you start turn 1 and actually resist an enemy Chasm’s stun?
I mean… i dont have any plan for him after that, but its just a curious thought. ![]()
I suspect Chasm’s stun would still work because it’s ‘start of battle’ which will happen before Banshee’s in-battle passive gets added to the game queue.

Yes, the first puzzle quest game had different colors for different types of abilities and MPQ followed that same scheme, though they followed it much more closely in the earlier days.
It’s been many years since I played the first puzzle quest but I believe it was Red for big damage attacks like a mage shooting a fire ball or a barbarian hitting a big swing of his battle axe, Green for aoe attacks and board destruction, blue for stuns, black for damage over time like poision attacks or bleeding, Yellow for healing, and purple for everything that didn’t fit one of those.
