Abilities

Ability: TOO DAMN HIGH!!

Color: Black
AP Cost: 10

Power Man channels all the Chi of those he’s held onto to unleash a devastating blow. Deal 4295 damage to the target. For each Chi point, consume it, and deal an additional 297 damage (max of 3).

(PASSIVE) On battle start, and if no friendly Chi tile exists at the start of his turn, create a Chi 3-turn Repeater tile. On completion, gain 2 Chi point(s). If Power Man gains 8 or more points he explodes, deals 404 damage to the enemy, stuns himself for 2 turn(s), and consumes the stored Chi.

Ability: Power Slam

Color: Red
AP Cost: 7

Sometimes all you need is a little Power and precision. Select and destroy 1 basic tile(s). For each tile destroyed, deal 1590 damage to the enemy team.

(PASSIVE) Power Man’s ability damage is increased by 5% for each Strike, Attack, or Protect tile that is on the board, to a maximum of 2 tile(s).

Ability: Chi Field

Color: Blue
AP Cost: 8

Focusing on the energy around him, Power Man creates a powerful protective field. Create 1 strength 205 Protect tile(s). If Power Man is in front, the resulting Chi shock wave stuns a random enemy for 1 turn(s).

(PASSIVE) Reduce Chi Repeater Tile timer by 1 turn(s) for every friendly Black, Red, or Blue ability fired.

*All character abilities are subject to change.

First question: how exactly (and when) does this work? Is it just at the beginning of the turn or, will it happen every time I fire a Black,Red,Blue? And does it add up so the first time it reduces by 1 and the second by 2 and so on?

To quibble, the character (his dad) is Shades, so the bio should say Shades’. Not Shade’s.

He should have “Avengers” listed as one of his affiliations. He was on the same team as the aforementioned White Tiger and Luke Cage.

At least it seems like it does decent damage for 10 AP, which is more than I can say for most of the new 5s lately.

Edit * Although I do think his red seems pretty useless which is in line with the latest theme.

Interesting thing If Power Man gains 8 or more points he explodes, deals 404 damage to the enemy, stuns himself for 2 turn(s), and consumes the stored Chi.….. so, is that 404 for each Chi? Or just 404 (pathetic) damage.

Another interesting thing, his red destroys up to 3 tiles. It doesn’t say the usual “destroyed tiles do not gain AP or deal damage”.

I got a pretty heavy ascended Luke Cage. I’ll be looking forward to trying Power Man out.

Maybe they meant to put the 2nd half of the blue active on his black passive? So if he explodes in the front he stuns the enemy, that way you world be controlling the chi by casting abilities then inrentionally blowing him up for the stun? Otherwise, you are just punished by your own teammate for casting actives…

Then there’s capping abilities with random numbers. Could just be me, but those feel like the biggest creative crutch. “Well, we couldn’t figure out how to balance this, so let’s just say it stops getting stronger at 3 special tiles”

You capped his additional chi damage, even though his chi already had its own low cap! Why? Why create a lower cap for something that already has a built in low cap? Just reduce the damage and let all 16 chi rip for the additional damage, it’s weak anyway. Silliness everywhere.

Why do you think Red is useless?

Its similar to Shang Chi Red. You only get to select 3 tiles instead of what Shang selects but you do 15k team damage too PER tile so 45k tho they wont let that stand in final numbers so assume 15k regardless of 1 2 or 3 tiles.

The passive part really increases his damage too if you have SAP tiles out so it could be a lot more team damage (54%) plus more Black power damage etc.

Seems like its his best power

His black works against both other powers from the way it reads, but could be different in practice. It’s the only way to reduce chi before exploding, but costs way too much to be able to fire reliably. To keep from stunning him & doing a pointless amount of damage you’re also somewhat deterred from firing not only his blue & red, but anyone else on your team too. It does good damage at least.

Of course you could build him around red & blue instead, it will make it easier to get SAP tiles out for his boost, but that just lowers the self destruct threshold. I could see running him with Brunhilde if she can make him stun immune, maybe Cosmic IM to get his chi up then fire his red for the team damage before he stuns himself?

Well I suppose it depends on if that is the numbers at 450 or 550. I’m just assuming that is at 550 which seems underwhelming to me. But if that is at 450 then that would be a different story. The way they post these numbers is a bit confusing to me.

So for the last 3 5* we got one who pokes you with his stinger, one who screams at you and one who explodes all over you

What is this, POV you got roofied by 3 middle aged pervs and you‘re just waking up in their sticky and shady basement?

I foresee this guy gets self-stun more often than firing the black…

It’s definitely the 550 damage.

I think 45K team damage (high potential to be 70K team damage if you have SAP tiles) for 7 Red is pretty good when you also get to select 3 tiles to destroy which can create matches for more damage and possibly firing again of the power. Don’t forget, it gives team damage per tile destroyed so if you have damage boosts (strikes and/or May etc) will boost each one. Assuming it stays at 15K per tile destroyed of course.

Black seem very underwhelming at 45K (potential for 65K if you have Max Chi) single target for 10 AP. Compared to Red it’s trash.

Obviously we have no real idea but whisper it…he seems maybe not bad?

There’s still time lol

The chi aspect seems a bit redundant, but overall looks a fine damage dealer. :+1:
