I’ve been on drop for half a day and the only hits where friends resetting lol
The nodes disappearing bug in pvp if you skip opponents too many times that was fixed awhile back has also reappeared.
Less players = quicker running out of targets.
that ‘bug’’ existed in Sim years before the instance you are referring to and never ended. It just means you are at the edge of your MMR. Rare to see in regular PVP, since you’ll get seals more easily.
This is a good start. I always get at least 50 wins in SCL 10 in PVP (usually more), complete all SCL10 PVE nodes (usually heroic), finish all dailies and do every quest. If we aren’t compensated, I’m going to feel very cheated. I’m starting to question why I still spend money on this game (I know I’m an idiot for doing it, but I love the game and I’ve been playing for ten years and have been a huge fan of the games since the original Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords came out in 2007). I don’t play the Magic: The Gathering version because I have no real interest in the MTG game.
We are in the same bracket as I see your name a bit above mine.
I peeked at your roster and you should be mopping up mine on turn 0 or 1 since I am not shielded and T10 (or was an hr ago).
KGB
One idea I could add to the list of potential compensation prizes would be a free pick of a character they don’t have (which will also include a free roster spot, which normally costs 1000 gold hero coins). The picks will be limited to 4, 5 and 6-star heroes. The 6-stars will be the most coveted, and if I’m not mistaken, not everybody has a single 6-star character, myself included.
I think this thread might be going to cloud cuckoo land now…
Ok so looks like we have a few days without play so time for Daz and Clem to think up some interesting polls for us to take part in
Daz, this would be the perfect time to revisit your game of thrones thread ![]()
I have no idea how to do polls on here, thats probably for the best tho…
No dev team that’s ever worked on MPQ has ever had a dedicated QA team.
I think lots of folks dramatically overestimate the number of people working on MPQ. The Demiurge team was tiny after launch. BCS, as a studio, had less than 20 employees total and worked on several of these games at once. The IP2 team is 5 or so full timers and some extra hands they can pull in when they need them.
We’re not talking about a shop like some of the dev shops you guys might’ve worked in, with 50 QA engineers running detailed, documented test plans before every release ships. MPQ has always been run by a skeleton crew, and it always will be.
I’d also suggest that if you’re offering to work for them for free, that might be exactly why they’re not interested in your help. Have you seen the “graphic design is my passion” memes? I’d be happy to help them out with character balance stuff, but not for free. My time is far too valuable to do volunteer work for a for-profit organization.
I haven’t seen you. I’m mostly getting people in or near my own MMR but only worth a few points
I don’t think anyone said they should have a dedicated QA team. But SOMEBODY has to do QA. I’ve worked in small app shops and nobody just comes up with something and says “let’s push this out” without testing it. It doesn’t mean there is a dedicated QA team, but even with 5 people, somebody should know what to check for and QA it.
Personally, I think the problem is three fold. They don’t understand the game at it’s core and they don’t understand the code they have been given. Couple that with an attitude that they need to “fix” a lot of things with the game instead of slowing down and understanding the game first and THEN go in and change a bunch of things. If they just inherited the game and sat down and spent some time understanding it, the changes might have worked better. As it is, they made bad changes on top of code they didn’t understand which had all kinds of unintended consequences. Then, to fix those changes, there are more changes with more unintended consequences.
Facts
Was there not talk of beta testing or do i need to lay off the glue for a while?
They did announce plans for it.
Yay more glue
You’ve been lucky! This sort of thing is incredibly common.
I’m not saying it’s excusable to ship bad code because they don’t bother with QA. I’m saying it happens, and it happens more the smaller you are. Historically it’s happened in MPQ quite a bit. There are plenty of games run by big dev teams that won’t make these sorts of mistakes.
Alternatively, we could all start spending lots more money on the game, and then maybe they’d have the money to hire QA engineers.
I’d like all my characters promoted to level 550. Thanks!
I’m certain a whole bunch of us would gladly playtest. The fact that they’ve never asked speaks volumes and tells me you’re not correct.
Lots of people do spend money. I think maybe they are trying to make some of us stop doing that, at this point.
