Similar issue with 1* Spider-Man. I have him ascended to 2-star, but he is unusable in the 2-Star Deadpool Daily events.
Clarification. I can’t use my 2* saved team with the ascended Spider-Man in Under The Sea, but it looks like it works in Third Time’s A Charm.
Try deleting and recreating the saved team.
There is a reported bug where saved teams lose track of the character after they are ascended so to saved teams it appears you no longer have that character.

This character was ascended MONTHS ago, not just now. It was working the other day, now it’s not. While I can select him on the character select screen, he is locked on my saved teams list. I also did recreate the team last night. Still no dice.
So, this had been fixed some time ago, but it’s broken again as of yesterday.
The “Under The Sea” event in Deadpool daily will not work with my saved 2* team. I can use that same team no problem in the Third Time’s The Charm event.
Same issue as last time, I assume. The Ascended 1* character is causing the problems.
There are several variations, most all involve descended characters.
In my case I start with an Ascended Jugg. (you can place any ascended character)
I switch to a node in DPD, where he is descended. (I Got A Golden Disc…et)
Note: I can’t use my saved team. If I remove all descended characters first, then I can use my saved team.
Pretty easy to reproduce.
The “Load a Saved Team” logic has a bug, where it checks what is currently loaded.
It probably shouldn’t care if the saved team is going to replace all three.
This same area of the logic, is the reason we get “characters keep switching” (Each person seems to have a different default character, based on their roster)
