Demiurge started in Pittsburgh. Not sure if they are still there. Even if they are, no gurantee that’s where the servers are. I’d bet dollars to dimes that they use some sort of rackspace or cloud hosting for this.
It’s really best to not have faith in D3 honestly. I don’t expect things to be up until noon or something and they’ll just shrug and say sorry or just act like it never happened.
This isn’t like wildfire where they have crews of hundreds working on the fire and it takes one captain to give a 2 minute update in front of tv cameras. I’d rather them spend all their energy on resolving the issue and they can tell us what happened tomorrow.
Y’all are funny. I like reading this. “Dear world, I was like 3 spots out of the place where I’d get the second deadpool cover and then the server crashed. When the police and my parents want to know why consider this my note.” -most people in this thread right now
Very true. I suppose to an extent it’ll depend on how long the servers are down. Like I said, it’s only been about an hour, so things are hardly in crisis. I just feel this is a good opportunity for D3 to show that they are trying to pick up on communicating with the community through some fashion.
In general, nothing in this world is 100% reliable. Stuff happens. Our car doesn’t start. Power goes out. Get sick before a presentation. AC at the theater stops working. And game servers go down. Does everyone want them up as soon as possible? Yes. But it happens. Would a gesture of compensation help everyone’s sentiment? Of course. But it’s not necessary. Life doesn’t always go the way we want it to go. That’s why it’s called life.
With the game down, I might have learned a lesson here. Maybe I should put the game away and go outside and actually do something that has nothing to do with video games!..but, it’s midnight and pouring rain so I sit down to wait for the servers to come up and boot up Skyrim (with mods) and learn nothing.
Well, if somebody was DDOSing the servers to keep their place, shouldn’t they have stopped by now? I guess I’ll check again tomorrow morning or something
This is real shit for those who spend real money in game and cant play ..i’m sorry for those people ..and Devs you are very intelligent this is shame for you
D3 had better come up with a good explanation. I was unable, like many others no doubt, to finish and make placement in not only Deadpool PvE but also in Thor PvP events. Tired of this server issues. Always making some kind of excuse.
I don’t get why people are so upset about not getting into the next slot up.
The servers crashed as soon as the event ended. Which means those points would not have counted anyway. If the servers crashed before you finished, then you would not have finished in time. I was ranked 7th in my bracket with less than 1 minute to go. I knew I could never finish a match in under 60 seconds, so i just waited for it to end.
So, unless there are different servers that crashed at different times, then they went down immediately after the Deadpool event ended. All those people that are complaining that they got cut off in the middle of their last match are just wasting their breath. Even if they had been able to finish, it would not have counted since it would have finished AFTER the event ended. Which means it would not have counted anyway.
Now as to the Thor PvP, the last hour was unplayable, so I myself feel kinda screwed in that one.
I hope so because i was top 10 before servers down and they need to explain this better for them to give fucking good explain …and now i wont be even top 100
And now because we’ve missed the end of another event due to server outage, they really should think of compensating us with some deadpool (purple) and hood (blue) covers…
