Hi Team, Hi @Tombstone
This weekend during HoD I had the pleasure of discovering 5 new bugged Cards / interactions and loosing matches because of them.
Next to discovering these 5 bugs I also noticed that cards that gain full mana during the casting phase ( as a result of mana gains from explore or mana conversion cards like Hour of Promisse don’t always get cast in the same turn but remain in hand until the next turn ( and missing a Murder that way could cost you a game as well.
On to the bugged cards or interactions
1: Adjani’s last stand: When this support is discarded by the opponent it is supposed to create an Adjani’s Avatar Token ( 4/4 Flying). This token is not created upon forced discard from Kitesail Freebooter’s ETB effect.
I have not been able to confirm is this happens with other ETB effects as well but I expect the behaviour to be the same.
( Yes missing out on 3 4/4 flying avatars can cost you a game )
2: Ghalta Primal Hunger: Ghalta can lock your entire hand in combination with Nissa WorldWaker’s 2nd ability.
With 24+ power on the board ( 4 land elementals ( 4/4) and Ghalta reinforced with Eldrazi Conscription (22/22) on the board I drew a Ghalta in hand which got it’s casting cost reduced to 0, as it should. Then I activate Nissa’s 2nd ability to draw 2 more cards and give my cards “awaken 4, summon 2 elementals” . As expected my Ghalta gains awaken 4, however after matching 3 green ( +7 mana) with Ghalta as first card in hand I expected Ghalta to cast and the awaken effect to create the two elementals.
However Ghalta remained in hand, the awaken circle was nice and green and the casting cost was up to 23. The card then continued to stay in my hand and consume all my mana for the rest of the match.
( And yes, beeing unable to cast any card for the remainder of a match does lose you a game)
3: Isolate: This card does not cast to destroy a support if AI has only a creature with Spell immunity on the battlefield. Instead it gains the red icon indicating it can not be cast even if there are valid targets (supports) in play . The card text indicates that if no creature can be destroyed it should target the cheapest support.
( If you happen to be struck with the bug that frags your ability to rearrange your hand and your first 3 cards are Isolate this will lose you the game)
4: Rite of Belzenlok: The cleric tokens summonned by chapter 1 and 2 are immune to targetted spells with a destoy effect ( i.e. murder, walk the plank etc.) if their damage prevention is activated. Also the tokens retain damage prevention once activated even if there are less than the required amount of black gems on the board.
( And yes having a wall of 0/x defender clerics with prevent damage that are immune to destruction as well …)
5: Aryell Knight of Windgrace: I noticed that matching a black energized gem from Aryell when Greg has no creatures on the board sometimes creates a white knight token when Lena Selfless Champion is on the board on your side.
