Right now, there is a player at the top of the leaderboard with 308 points. Max score right now is 300 though. It is one of the many unsolved bugs that have been around for months. This one is particularly annoying, because it can lead to people dropping out of their actual award ranks. A fix is wishful thinking, but would be also very great.
Yes, it happened to me in a legacy event once also. Didn’t notice until too late since I had a full score anyway but I was at first and the other, regular, full scorers were in second.
I got extra points early in that last RotGP, from SWW that didn’t lose me points, and gave back my charge. Of course, that was negated when I randomly lost a few charges.
In my bracket, a perfect score (540) is 7th place!
Top spot has 572pts so that’s atleast 3 charges extra.
Not even an above full score is top 5 for max rewards.
I have one loss so I’m not directly affected but having a perfect score after a whole weekend of playing and getting, at best, second prize is pure bs!
Already placed a ticket and I will alert everyone in our family to do so… This is not the first time this is happening but first serious PVP event where I see it.
Very very serious issue on top of the messed up unannounced schedule change. D3 what’s going on here???
Happened in my bracket too … I fortunately was granted an extra charge that allowed me to get 552 points over 540 … So i’m still top 5 but … But only third in the bracket …
It seems to happen when server is having issues when resolving a game. Sometimes, when you finally get back to the nodes wheel, you get the points and the charge on node remains, allowing a second encounter with the same oponent.
That is a real issue, it’s very unfair to top scorers that don’t even have a place in top 5 because of it.
One very good remark that I heard is also related to people who could actually navigate through the event and get superior scores in spite of not having a perfect. Since such people don’t end up having abnormal scores going above 540 it’s going to be impossible to determine who ran into this situation and took advantage of the system.
Once again I feel it’s a situation that’s somewhere on the edge between “taking advantage of the system” and “going with the flow and just playing all available matches”. I guess the intent of it makes it feel like cheating or not, and I also understand people having perfects that took the extra nodes to “make sure they stayed in the top”.
Well, i must confess that when you see there are already scores over the top and you hear other players talking about being granted extra charges, you don’t hesitate too much. As you know the whole leaderboard will be messed up anyway, not playing it is the best way to auto-screw yourself.
I really hope the players will actually receive the reward they deserve. From a personal point of view, the situation feels very unconfortable, much more than ending in a lower rank.
In that kind of situations, i would consider giving top prize to any player that has scored 540 in the first place. Then top 25 prize to anyone that has played every charge.
In the same boat.. Grinded the whole weekend, manage perfect score just to end in 7th place without top rewards. Hope support fixes this fast because this is some bs.
I just sent a ticket because of this. I had an extra charge in the very last round myself and even though this didn’t matter in my case because I ended in the lowest bracket anyway, this certainly affects coalition scores. A buggy mess like this event simply shouldn’t exist at all.
