This is a rant and is just my opinion. I know this will make me sound like a broken record, but bring the vault costs back down to 5k or give it more value. I have the ability to purchase the X-men vault at the current price many times over, but I won’t because the value isn’t there. We were use to 5k vaults. Do that price. I know you want hoards to be spent. I’m at a point where I don’t have to spend my hoard…but I want to spend it. Don’t give out a noticeably inferior product for a higher cost (current X-Men vault)…you guys are not constrained in that way due to this being a digital platform. Ive been at this game for about 7 years, so I can see when the offers are getting worse/questionable.Go to 5k on the vaults or make it worth purchasing. Make me want to spend my hoard so I will spend more cash. Here is a free one, run multiple vaults at 5k that hit different areas so people spend. Rant over, please feel free to ignore this.
The inconsistent pricing on these is frustrating. All I can say that if you do a 40 pull you most likely get enough shards for 4 x 5* covers which seems better than the other vaults recently that have been cheaper. Yes we have definitely had truly cheap 5000hp vaults but I think they are just treats now rather than anything regular. Not sure myself on this one whether to pull.
Totally agree, and its NOT a boring topic, its a VALID one; I just saw the vault and kept my coins, spent just the 100 daily, and got a 2*

Like most of you I have a lot of resources because I spent money and put in time. I will do it again if given the chance. I’m glad some of you guys agree that they need to do better in this area. Feels like the bean counters have gotten involved a little too much.
I think most people have noticed they made the economy the worst its ever been, but we’re missing the why… why dont they want us to participate?
OR all of the people who dont say anything are emptying their bank accounts, and for zero burgers!
I think the X-Men vault is better than the AAPI vault was. I don’t keep track of this stuff, but it seems to have different stuff?
I’m sure they could build every vault exactly the same and have it cost exactly the same, though.
The Heroic nodes are supposed to be X-men this time. I also note that this vault can give you a full cover for 4 5s if you pull everything, get lucky, etc. Usually you can’t get more than half per vault refresh.
Maybe they priced it higher because you can get full covers / 500 shards. Also you might want them for those Heroic nodes so that might be a reason to price the pulls higher.
It’s not a great look but there might be some actual justification around the cost.

I bought the 40 pull and got all the 5 star shards.
Yeah it cost more but I have 120K HP and nothing to spend them on and no clue when we might get another vault for 5K (maybe only as an anniversary special or XMAS special or maybe never).

I am sitting at 263k. I won’t bite because this is weak compared to what we have had. In real life I am a PhD and have a BCBA-D. I specialize in behavioral things. The 5k was normalized and they are attempting to normalize the new cost. Eventually this new cost will be the norm and we will have to deal with it. We have a small chance to fight back…for whatever that is worth. They give us crap, we shouldn’t spend on crap. I know what they are doing, you guys know what they are doing. We stick around also because of the intermittent reward schedule.
A community has also been built. A community that helps their bottom line. A hit was taken when the incentive for buy clubs was destroyed. I made a post or two about it way back when and got laughed out.
They ( the dev group )are doing essentially what would be called “shrink-flation” in the digital realm. So I think calling them out on the new pricing is fair. It should actually be the main argument currently. Just my interpretation of the situation.
Hold up though, you’ll are thinking too big. You’re only thinking of x40 pulls etc. but the daily 100hp is the same as ever. And this vault is open for 28 days, not just 5.
Just like with that cp vault in the other thread everyone is praising for having enough time to pull from even without ready hoards, this is much the same… You dont need to have tens of thousands at the ready, daily deals will get you most of the vault and if you can put a x10 pull on top then you’ve basically emptied the lot. For those who are sitting on a stash, you can reset, you’re welcome, be happy.
This vault is better in some ways for newer players and smaller rosters, who still have a lot of characters to roster and not enough hp to spare. The devs have shown they’re keen on making changes that help new players.
Not saying we shouldn’t have the 5k type vaults that drop for like 48hrs, but we could, and totally should have both.
The AAPI vault had half a 5 for 4 of them. Pulls were 5k for a 40, so if you goal was to get a full 500 shards that was 10k hp plus the 100 you might need to spend if you wanted to get them within 2 days.
This one is 7350 if you pull a 40, and you get 500 5* shards for 4, so it’s twice as fast and just one vault to add a cover.
So in a way you are saving 2650 HP if all you care about is really the 5s. Or that’s the thing you’re focused on. Arguably the specific 5s might not be worth it but that’s a call each person would need to make.
But I don’t have a good memory to say whether the 5k AAPI vault had enough other good stuff that this is clearly a huge downgrade in contents. There’s no iso so if you’re post iso that’s appealing. All you get here is covers, so no shards from tokens. Also no support items.
I do not disagree that they keep reducing values of things and increasing costs, and it’s not fun. But in this case you can make an argument the vaults are pretty close in value per hp spend to the AAPI vaults last month.
I hope they don’t reduce any more values per hp spend. In this case I think the sticker shock is a lot, and like I said it’s possible the value really isn’t there, but it’s not quite and open and shut case from my perspective.

Every player will spend HP on it or not based on relative value. The vast majority will not read this post, ever.
There are so many things one can do with one’s time and money.
To me the correct response to feeling overly manipulated is to dis-invest and de-prioritize the thing that is bothering you, especially when the thing is a distant thing that sees you, Individual Player, as mostly an interchangeable account that will, at some point, no longer engage with the product.
If they want to address this issue directly (they won’t) and seem to treat us as valued community opinion-havers on the game economy, they have multiple communication venues to do so.
When I feel myself getting angry I remind myself they are running the game they want to run and remember that my time is more important to myself, by far, than any 6* shards or hp or any other digital ephemera and try to retain that perspective as much as possible.
Behavior manipulation is absolutely what they are doing and your agency is to decide whether you let yourself be manipulated, and how much, and how much power you let them have over you and your general state of happiness/satisfaction with the game.
We live in a world where many many companies are just trying to extract more and more out of users, and many of the ones that start to lose upward momentum turn to things like this to try to keep the ball rolling a bit longer. (Meta is introducing paid subscriptions now). It sucks but that’s our world and reminding/learning to value ourselves and the people around us above distant manipulators is paramount to navigating it successfully (to our well being, let alone “success” as defined monetarily).
I look at it as I will never spend 120k hero points. So whether or not this is as good a deal as older vaults is irrelevant. If I dont spent the hoard just keeps growing with ever less reason to spend.

I’m not mad. Trust me. I look at this as a hobby. One that I would like to see make it out of the next few years. I have other hobbies that I spend on. I just am just pointing out flaws and giving possible solutions. As stated in my first post, it is just my opinion and they can take it or leave it.
