so basically who should I champ Next?

i have a planned rotation, this max 200 pixel height thing is a minor pain though

Seriously, though. Just champ them all. Having a roster of all 3s champed is both satisfying and useful. Some node or event will eventually come along requiring you to bring along a specific 3-star and you’ll be glad you have that character champed.
Like others have said, all are good, here is what I would do first.
I’d start with Panther cause his color scheme really fits nicely with and opens up a lot of possibilities for a full rainbow. He also works nicely with Thor and Blade, though not quite as nicely as . . .
Rocket and Groot are great for protecting your other characters. I typically run them with Thor and Blade using Thor as my main source of damage. The nice thing is that Rocket and Groot tanks green and yellow which are the primary two that I use Thor for. I can get late into the game with my main damage dealer still at full health.
