Given that this week is 3-star week, I figure that it will exclude a portion of the playerbase from placing high, myself included. If card acquisition was no issue and you could have any max level team for free, who would you use? You can refer here for a list of characters.
As for myself, I’d go with Spidey/Doom/Mags. To be honest however, I don’t like the selection of 3-stars that much and would rather use 2-stars.
Wolverine, Spiderman, Ragnarok. Unlike Thor, Wolverine actually has synergy with Ragnarok. Only missing strengths in 1 color which Wolverine fixes quite nicely.
Rag, rag, and rag?
I would say rag/widow/IM40, but if they’re all max level IM40’s yellow is going to be more expensive, so probably rag/widow/hood to feed the engine.
Doom/Rag/Spidey
My dream team would have to be… the Hulk, Invisible Woman, and Deadpool.
An odd combination of heroes, I know, who do not even exist yet. But there it is.

Rag/Spidey/IM40
or
Rag/Spidey/widow
Use widow if she has sniper
Still trying to decide on the end goal, tossing up between:
Magneto(3*)/Wolverine(2*)/Spidey
Uses all colours except black
or
Hood/Magneto(2*)/Wolverine(2*)

I like the combo from the second group but VERY squishy even with wolverine tanking/healing biggest will be bit over 3kish (not sure of hoods final HP but be lucky to be 4k I suspect). Wolv is there for the green and some red, so could swap him out for Thor for more HP. Rag no good because nothing to use the green, and Rag’s own green skill is … shit. Even Thor not great as 15 cost means its yet another really expensive skill, need something cheap.
Actually, I use Classic Storm, Rag, and Spidey. The other team usually only gets two or three turns at all because the Thunder clap produces green which I use with Storm’s lightning storm attack. This produces more red, so it’s a never ending cycle. Then I just heal everyone with Spidey before I take the last guy out. It’s pretty epic.
Right now I am liking rag/spidey/hood, I like the color mix, only missing purple. I. Like that hood uses yellow for the times when I do not need a heal, and the AP leeching is annoying as he’ll to play Against.
At least spidey has purple as one of his colours which means when you do match them you do good damage rather than hitting for say … 25 lol
Rag/spidey/classic magneto
That was going to be my fallback, but will need to level my widow up for the 3* she is still base level but I do have all 3 colours

The Metal Militia ( IM 40, Doom, Magneto) seem like a pretty decent and potent combination.
I like the idea of an all-offense, self-sustaining team.
Doom’s blue ability feeds his black
IM40’s yellow ability feeds his red
Widow’s purple ability feeds her green
no overlap there. If you run with various +3 boosts, that team could turn lethal quick.
Unfortunately, I only have two black Doom covers as of now. I wish I would have been more aggressive in getting him during the lightning rounds.
Haha I like your style sir!! Would be great to have ‘The Things - Its Clobbering Time’ to go with Hulk’s Smash but if I had to pick a lady instead of Invisible Woman it would have to be The Phoenix! The Hulk and Deadpool are pretty much invincible anyway + adding the Phoenix would equal ultimate tile destruction!! 
Ragnarok-IM40-Hood/Spidey imo. Good for offense and that much hp from rag and ironman should scare some people what we called only defense in game.
No strong green there would waste Widow’s purple sadly.
Widow’s green is her sniper rifle. Pretty good ability (when it’s maxed out), although the AP cost is on the high end. But it does damage all enemies and can create cascades.
You misunderstand. No one MATCHES green strongly, so her PURPLE is not used to full effect.
