Which 3 of these 4 characters makes a better team?

I have Thor, 2* Wolverine, Doom, and Spidey all around ~85.

I’m thinking Thor, Wolvie, and Spidey as my regular 1st team with Doom, Thor, and Spidey being used for Lightning rounds.

I also have a 4/1/2 IM40. Not sure if I should level him or not. My Rag is only 2/0 icon_e_sad.gif

Don’t use Spidey in Lightning rounds. He’s just too slow. Wolverine is great for them.

And I agree w/ your main team makeup.

I think Thor, Wolverine (I’m assuming the 2* version?) and Spidey is your best all round team for now, it gives you two good damage characters and Spiderman is the best utility character in the game right now, with stun, protect tile and heal. You have fairly good tile damage as well, just missing black.

From my understanding of playing, always put higher lvls ones to scare off players.
Will go for DD / Spidey then thor or wolve.

Wolve green is so powerful that he’s really useful as a support / main since both green n red ability can do insane damage.
Hope this help.

I’m with Zathrus that Thor/Spidey/Wolverine is the best main team from what you listed.

As for Lightning Rounds, I’d actually vote Spidey over Wolvie (who is one of my favorite covers) depending on how high level your opponents are. If you’re facing a high level villian, a Doom/Spidey/Thor combo might make more sense because Spidey can stun-lock to prevent high-level Rags/Mags/Dooms from getting AP and unleashing on you early (and give you time to collect Doom’s black AP), and Wolvie’s attack tiles would block space for Doom’s demons, which with stun-lock can more quickly drop a villain tank.

Against lower-levelled opponents in Lightning Rounds, Wolvie is quicker to get revved up and would be a wiser choice, IMO.

Thank you for all the great insights. I really appreciate it. Hopefully I can earn some Rag covers this week’s Lightning rounds.

P.S.
I really love Spidey.

To effectively use Wolverine or Doom, won’t you want to leave a lot of red tiles on the board. To stun-lock with Spidey, you’ll end up leaving a lot of yellow on the board, and sometime actively avoiding matches to preserve web tiles. Won’t that end up starving Thor?

Thor+Spidey is a good combo; Wolvie+Doom is a good combo. Can’t go wrong with either choice. I usually tend to think of 2 character combos, with the 3rd being extra due to many events having guests.

As a Spidey user, I only sub him in once every 3 or 4 matches. And he works fine at a moderately low level. So Thor/Wolvie/Doom would be my ideal as a main team.

I’ve never had a problem stun-locking and getting enough yellow to heal with Spidey. If everything else is equal I imagine Spidey would just make it easier to get a Thunder Strike off. If it becomes a big deal try not to use Mjolnir until you have a good stun established.

Once you’ve got a good stun-lock string going and have more than 5 web tiles on the board, then you can start collecting yellow without weakening future stuns. Then you can either heal with Spidey, or let Thor out of the cage for a coup de gras Thunder Strike. Once you’ve got a high level Spidey/Wolvie or Spidey/Doom combo (for Lightining Rounds), Thor becomes more useful as a damage sponge than damage dealer to me.

IM40 now plays that Thor role for me on my teams. I rarely use his abilities unless it’s the end of a round and I’m ready to finish off the other team - mostly I keep him in for high health, high match damage, and as a battery occasionally if I need blue to start the wheel of stun-lock spinning.

Spidey is good towards the end, i usually skip spidey teams because if the board starts heavy purp or blue its gonna be a long fight.

Here’s my Wolvie/Thor strategy which ends up working really well for both:

You accumulate enough Red for at least one Mjolnir. Then you start collecting green and using Wolvie’s green power. It’ll generate two tiles if you have at least the 6 AP you need for Thor’s red AP. Then, by the time you use Thor’s Mjolnir attack, it’s strong enough to take out a lot of characters because it benefits from the strike tiles. You will rarely need to collect more red after that point (between green slashes and Thunder Strike which you might get in the interim).

Sadly, that seems to be IM40’s only role.

You know, I haven’t used c.storm in weeks and never really used m.widow much, so haven’t really used stuns a lot in this game. Then the DA tournament came along and I found Venom invaluable, even with his lowly 1-turn stun. Think I’m going to start using Spidey more…

In terms of his ability to win games, Spidey is guaranteed sucess. He just slows down grinding for general use.

I’m in a serious dillema about Thor/Wolvie/BWGS or Thor/Wolvie/Spidey
My Thor and Wolvie are around lvl 81, 5/5/3 both of them (I know, I should’ve gone Wolvie 5/3/5…)

BWGS is lvl 53 and Spidey too, but she is 3/3/5 while Spidey is still a newborn 2/1/5.

So the big question is, who am I supposed to spend my ISO on? BWGS or Spidey?

She seems weak for me (HP talking and too much time to gather her green) while I still don’t think that Spidey is the powerhouse everyone is talking about… I think it’s because his blue is just 1, but anyway…

The problem is that for both Grey Widow and Spidey to be really useful, you need them at level 5 for their Green and Blue colors respectively.

So, it seems like you’re closer to that with BWGS. But she don’t mesh so well with Wolverine if you plan on using her AOE Sniper rifle.

I think Spidey is going to complement Thor much more than Widow, Widow is great on Rag teams where you can blast to the 19AP for her green fairly easily, but how many times are you going to reach that on a Thor Team? Spidey with his 2AP stun on the other hand is going to help you in most matches.

What about Thor/Spidey/Widow? Better than using Wolvie when they’re all high level? I just love Wolvie’s 3AP green. Makes everyone hit like a truck. I can kill guys pretty fast with that. The only trouble I have is when I get dealt a bad board with no green/red/yellow (since Thor can use them to create red). Also, facing Daken is a pain in the butt. You can’t/shouldn’t match green right from the start.

I can’t really see what Widow is bringing to the party in that setup, you will always choose Thor’s red over hers, and Wolverine green as well. The only ability she may get off is her purple once in a while.
