I’m only just now getting to the point where my 4s are approaching max champ and are starting to need dupes. Ascending them will still take time (even though I fully intend to min-max them), but I’m also not hurting on covering the newest arrivals, so could sharget some of the dupes for quicker progress.
Trouble is, which one? I read so many good referrals here for amazing teams etc. I’m more uncertain then ever!
So the questions is: With the exception of Chavez and Juggs, what’s the top 5 best to ascend 4*s?
(Or alternatively tell me the top 5 you love to use the most).
Chavez doesn’t have any relevance to cl10 play anymore, she was nice to have ascended previously but not a priority. It’s basically Juggs and Mbaku for the typical pve meta picks nowadays. If you like special tile spam Polaris can still be good (for pvp, mainly) and ascended Nico is the best tile buffer. If you like countdown shenanigans Coulson becomes a big contributor if ascended. There are a lot of other fun picks out there but that’s pretty much just what they are… fun.
I’d say you’re better off concentrating on Juggs or Baku, depending on your needs.

I don’t know that America Chavez is a top priority for most players so I’m not sure how she got on the list.
Juggernaut is probably the most used 4* among the top players.
We’d really need a lot more information about how you play and what you like. There are a lot of these guys and very few of them are bad.
It’s simply that Chavez and Juggs are already ascended. They’re my only 2. Chavez because she was in a lot of fan fave legendary stores and rng gave me a lot of covers. Even without really trying I got the dupe to 13 covers and so I wanted to see how much better she might be and ascended her.
I’ve been sharding and working on Juggs for months to get the JuggerSam team going.
I only really play pve, and the very hard nodes can be really difficult, sometimes even impossible for me. Especially if Kangveil aren’t an option for some reason. But I don’t have 15min to spend on a single battle, so I guess my aim would be to get some kind of team that can handle lvl 825 teams without taking forever about it. I couldn’t care less about placement.

That’s exactly what we needed to know! I can’t think of any good suggestions for you, but I’m sure someone here will.
Baku, versatile for both and can easily take on the CNs and 5es with 3 Namor as his BFF
Juggernaut, almost exclusively PvP unless you don’t care about speed in PvE
Those are the only 2 that are generally useful even when they are not boosted. Next step down are toons that are useful when boosted, and there’s quite a few, but here’s what I’d put at the top of that list:
Rocket & Groot
Polaris (might deserve to be lower post nerf, but still useful)
Doop
America Chavez
Rogue
(Gave you 7 since you asked for 5 excluding Juggs and Chavez)
Polaris is still good, either with Rocket or with Sam especially if you have a good Low Level AI support. Coulson is really good, but whether it’s personal inertia or not, he is tied to 5* hawkeye for me. Other than that I’ve just been ascending everybody, and playing around with them when boosted.
I have a 1A4 Hawkeye with stun batons, SC with Lucky for the critical tile boost, and 5* Agatha (she can add purple tiles and has a match damage bonus) with Quantum Realm team that works well. For the essential 5* nodes you can swap Quantum Realm to the essential 5*. If you don’t start with any purple AP just retreat. Just keep firing HE’s purple matching with purple and you can win pretty quickly on turn 0. You may need to occasionally fire HE or SC red to get more purple or manipulate the board some.

A little sad to not see Multiman mentioned, he’s top tier IMO
Moonstone also top tier offensively, though she doesn’t need ascension, it speeds things up
DareDevil has multiple good uses that benefit from ascension
Coulson is OP but way too slow… like, ruins the fun slow.
Betsy and Avalon, both very fun and useful
Magik very good with the right friends
Throg, if you like to party, very fun
India is part of a 1 shot kill team
Max, quite decent
Northstar fun and decent, esp with Baku
Beast is amazing with Agatha5 infinites
I have a hunch that Aikku is quite good, I’ll let you know in 2028

Someone, maybe Whitebomber, ran the numbers on Multiman, and he hits like a freight train when ascended. His instawin is harder to achieve, but he does damage.

Totally appreciate the info. I’m assuming this is more for PvE than PvP? I don’t see him at all in PvP and imagine he would be there if he is that good. Meta teams are hard to avoid and I never see him at all in PvP.
