Iceman seems like a given if you have him at a decent level. He can use his purple to accelerate QS’ passive and can use the blue AP collected. I suppose I’ll use Cyclops as the third to get red/yellow coverage.

I see you have a pretty decent OBW, she might be worth trying out since she’s boosted. You may even get Quicksilver to tank black and blue.

with 24 hours to go my slice’s top scorer has 800 points.

I have never been so close to quitting this game. I want to cry.

I want the stupid Jean Grey cover SO BAD. RNG has been particularly cruel to me on legendary tokens - I have max covers for IW and Elektra, but almost none for Jean, Hulkbuster, Classic Cyclops, or Iceman. And now that covers cost CP rather than HP, I’m unlikely to be in a position to buy any.

I started my push last night and spent a bunch on shields. I stopped at like 950 then went to bed.

This morning -

First fight - game lies about the team I attack and it only ends up being worth 6 lousy points. Shield again.

Second fight - gets me to like 990. Shield again.

All the teams the game is offering me now are super high level iceman/classic Cyclops combos. I have no boosted 4* toons. Fuck my life.

Third fight - Terrible match luck and I lose. Decide to fight again (big mistake). Win for 50 points, but also get hit like 7 times and drop to 910. Shield, but none left off cool down for 3 hours, and I’m unlikely to be able to play then, and the event ends shortly thereafter.

I have been playing this game devotedly for 2 years and i have never been so frustrated and tempted to say that’s it.

This is insane…quicksilvers insanely slow animation, why??? Does anyone in d3go do some test of this?. Or devs just, he lets make animations even longer, its fun to see 1minutes animation

I have been playing this game devotedly for 2 years and i have never been so frustrated and tempted to say that’s it.

This is why i will never bother trying for 1000 again. Made that mistake, learnt my lesson.

I’m just going to play like i always have: join in the final hour and aim for 600-700. Much less stress, and i actually get to enjoy playing. Which is what every game ultimately should be: enjoyment.

I think of this quote from Game of Thrones quote every time I think of high end PVP and why I don’t bother anymore:

Littlefinger: “Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some, given a chance to climb, they refuse. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.”

I think I’ve fallen into the broken category at this point, “never to try again”. Quite content to just get my 300-500 point each event with Sheild sim to get to the 4000 pt progression reward of Heroic 10 pack. Anything more, just aint worth the climb, I’m fine with the illusions.

UPDATE: BTW for those who don’t watch GoT or read the books, Lord Littlefinger is one of the worst people in the series. He would be all about the PVP.

I can fully empathize. I had the exact same experience a few weeks ago when I desperately wanted the Iceman cover. So here’s a virtual hug for all the people in the same boat!

It is unfortunate that the shield hop is utterly dependent on not failing, because the moment you miss a jump, it just goes downhill from there.

Picked myself up for this cover (which I also desperately needed), and levelled up Hulkbuster and Prof X above 200 so as to be a scarecrow, which worked in a way. Timed shields for the jump from 800 to 900 then another for 1000. I did not get hit as much when I have a scary enough 4
team, even if it was not buffed for the event. So my best advice or suggestion for you is to brush yourself off and try again in another event, with better knowledge of what went wrong, level up a good enough team (a level 200 IW is a good scarecrow, even unbuffed), and pray to RNGesus that you win the jumps.

I know that you mean well, but for anyone beyond a 2* roster, a level 200 IW is not even remotely close to being a scarecrow. I’d even venture to suggest it’s the opposite and it makes you more of a target, that’s how bad IW is when played by the AI

Acknowledged. I was just picking up on his statement that only IW and Elektra are his only well covered 4*, and I supposed any high level 4* is better than none. I started levelling up my Hulkbuster to 210 a few weeks ago and since I started using him in PvP, hits against me dropped noticeably.
