Time to vote!
Since you all zoomed through the Community Challenge and the stretch goals last month, we’re opening up the MPQ Character Rebalance Survey.
to be frank, this limited survey doesn’t reflect the offer that was on the table if stretch goals were reached. This poll is limited to less than 10 characters, some of which, do not need, or need the priority of a rebalance (Onslaught/Maria Hill/Elektra). Seems like these are characters which devs have either already short listed, or have some backend mechanic that doesn’t work. So this basically is a question of which character first.
Dr. Strange will win, which was probably inevitable due to popularity and potential. Of all the questionable things that BCS is doing, rebalances have been amongst the most successful, why though rebalances are such a low priority is a missed opportunity.
But he would be even better if he had 3 powers instead of just 2. His purple is completely useless and actually gets worse if you fire it multiple times.

Please don’t vote for Onslaught… what is wrong with you people?
He’s already great, im so confused.

Unlimited invisibility is a bad power now? o_O
Also, I dont trust them with rebalances so he might end up actually worse than right now (Dark Beast comes to mind).

No, that would be a great power. That’s not how his purple works at all, it’s more limited invisibility the more you use it.
Fire his purple once and he creates 2 trap tiles that if either is matched he stops being invisible and he creates 1 attack tile. Fire it again and you now have 4 trap tiles and if any is matched, which is now more likely, he stops being invisible and he still only creates 1 attack tile. Fire it a 3rd time you now have 6 trap tiles…
If you ever get stuck up against an invisible onslaught you will let him match purple so he can fire his purple again to make it easier to match a trap tile and uninvisible himself. A power that you try to get the AI to fire because it will actively hinder them self is not a good power.
Again, I never said he “needs” a rebalance. Only that he could be even better. Imagine an onslaught with a purple that benefited from multiple trap tiles. Change it so that the more trap tiles on the board, he makes more than just 1 attack tile. Or add another effect to having more trap tiles on the board.
Maybe add to his green that a match 4 or 5 actually does something if you’ve already destroyed all the team up ap on the board and there isn’t any to destroy.
Onslaught is totally meh. And his purple is awful, invisibility when he can only do damage doing cascades so it’s counterintuitive having 3 traps, also a strong attack tile is less than nothing nowadays.
And we have to vote in the same questionary. They could present another one. The votes could be the same in both.
Edit: no, I can’t vote because I already answered the previous one…(scratching head)
Disappointed a bit by the implication that we would might choose the rebalance out of all available characters….little did I know that it would be from a small pool of their choosing
There are so many other characters that needed to be at least an option. Oh well:D
I wrote in Odin. I was pretty surprised to see Onslaught on the list, I think he works great. Would like to have seen Abigail Brand and Captain Marvel on this list.
Were you really expecting to see all 350+ characters in the game listed as radio button choices?
They gave us a write in option so you can write in any one of the 350.
Nothing says the suggested list is guaranteed to be the character though it’s obviously more likely unless they use a mitigating factor (ie if a write in candidate gets 10% of the total that one in the list gets, that character wins instead).
Yeah, I believe that’s my point. The likely reset will be for the most voted for character out of the bunch supplied in the list. And no, I did not expect 350+ radio buttons lol.
I did hope for a straight write in to take precedence over the small cadre picked out by the devs. This might be the portion we likely agree on: a truly community chosen rebalance.
I asked that one of the Q&As – why can’t they just update numbers on some of these guys in a batch? Just give them health and match damage to equal current 5*, and a lot of these guys would be just fine.
They said that every character needed to have individual attention, because powers, health, and match damage are all related. I’m really not convinced, though.
Hope onslaught does Not get slotted in on a priority first list and if he does hope they don’t break his green at four as to balance him to buff the other two powers
