Scl 8-10 got 12000 4* wildcards? Wow…very generous, if they are not wrong typo
I’ll take it but feels like there might be an extra zero in here that needs to be edited out.
I have a Spider-man sitting at 450 (base) that is not 550 now. What do I do?
Also, I feel a little shafted that because was not affected by the bug, I now don’t have May at 550. That solution of leveling to max is way more generous than any of the compensation listed above (at least for me it is). I truly wish I had been affected by the bug now. That doesn’t sound like the right outcome you are hoping for as devs?
Definitely a typo when cross checked with the numbers from lower tier comp. But in this case, I’m willing to be proven wrong. ![]()
I would really like to keep that zero.
But I’m willing to be flexible, we can shift it to the end of something else. Like cp or even the iso ![]()
*If you don’t have a 550 May, Goblin or 1Spidey you get 12,000 4 star shards as comp, otherwise it’s 1,200
Never mind that the most shards you can have for any one character caps out at 9,999 ( i believe) ![]()
So if you weren’t affected but your GG, for example, happened to be at 450 it went to 550? And if you weren’t affected but your GG, for example, happened to be at 451 it stayed at 451?
Why not just give everyone those characters at 550? Seems to me that would actually be more fair than what was decided. Would love to really understand how that decision was made.
My Goblin is 459 and wasn’t lucky enough to receive the Devs Manager Special free upgrade, those extra 9 covers clearly marked him a match for all the new 550 Goblin’s out there! So nice!
I think at this point the problem is beginning to look like my collection of cables & chargers for various things that I no longer use, and probably don’t even have any more.
It’s a tangled mess that no-one can successfully unravel, and even if by some fluke you could sort it out (read; make everyone happy) the end result is you’ve got some things you’ll probably still never use
[disclaimer, probably doesn’t apply to May, she’s still good]
I think the biggest problem with this ‘solution’ is that it’s likely given several baby champ rosters a sudden 550 Goblin out of nowhere. Is that good for game balance???
I agree this is a mess but really how inconvenient was the delevelling? I was one of those who was hit with the spinning red death spiral so couldn’t play anyway but for those deleveled what did this temporary effect really cost them in MPQ progress? You aren’t using your 450 Green Goblin in an unboosted week and now suddenly you get a free 550? How is that even remotely proportional? I saw a 550 Goblin in PvP yesterday as they attacked me and it was the players only 550 - maybe it was a natural one but I doubt it. So now that is another new player who can attack me and try and take my points.
I don’t think I have ever really complained about Dev decisions much before (cue people posting dozens of examples otherwise) but this just feels so incredibly unfair that it has made me think maybe what is the point? I was always happy to play at my own speed but now people are given an artificial boost which means they can then use that against me in PvP.
And it isn’t the players fault at all.
Edit: Went to go and look at starting Magic PvP, first team in queue has 550 Goblin and no other 550s. They have a boosted 522 Iceman which means aren’t even champed, so this player who is worth decent points is now not only locked into always using Goblin but has gained an advantage. In this case I am going to go and kill them out of pure spite but this is the sort of thing that has been created by this incredible poorly thought out decision. Down with this sort of thing.
This would be the first time having a 550 Goblin has been called an advantage. They’re stuck in a knife fight with a spoon. One of those ice cream sampler spoons…
After thinking about this a bit, it seems to me that any player who didn’t get a maxed out Spidey or May or Goblin - and wants one, or two, or all three - should be able to get them via CS request.
Obviously some don’t want or didn’t want 550 Goblin etc. At one point I held off leveling my 1-5 Spidey, and I think Juggernaut, to avoid 550 MMR (possibly that was pointless but it was my choice).
I am happy I got a 550 Goblin now as he’s my 26th or so 550 toon. And I saved some cover leveling on 3-4 May. So I am happy all around. I don’t feel like my deleveling was a huge problem since it was short term and I wasn’t even trying very hard in events at that time. Overall this is an insanely beneficial outcome for my roster.
Anyway, the only way to make this feel fair to people who didn’t update and would have in exchange for jumping ahead is to offer CS access to 550 or 266 or 370 or 144 toons as appropriate. The players are upset and annoyed by many things lately. There are like 403 other toons to 550 after these 3. Many players apparently prefer slowly leveling to get rewards over jumping the line. Let people make a request to even the playing field. This is still ostensibly a game which is competitive which drives engagement and spending. Every time it feels unfair people disengage a little more. It is probably better for the game to let people have this choice. There will still be infinite progress to be made for any player who asks for a 550 Goblin.
Thumbs all the way up from me
Having any 550 is an advantage against those who don’t.
i dare say ol’ Gobbo does some pretty decent damage with his black at 550? His numbers were bumped to modern standards for 5 stars (not scorpion and banshee) so I’m thinking he’s probably pretty good now? I havn’t seen his 550 numbers though.
Bucket, care to oblige? (Or anyone else that now suddenly has one)
And of course Goblin is probably just the low end of this, 550 Spidey and May are gonna be even worse. Like I said previously, I’m already up against 672 Spidey once per month and now there are more and more of them. Get a mediocre boost week and frankly it will be hell.
I’m I the only one concerned by the term “season” to determine whether or not we get compensation? PVP & PVE combined? Separate? I don’t PVP much, so is that going to count against me?
But the people they will see will also be 550, and those other 550s are likely much much better. To get to the point where they can seal bash they need to beat the good 550/672… Enjoy that Gobbo against a wall of SamJuggs.
I was wondering about this too. Possibly they used PvP because it has lock outs for certain SCL so you can’t play down but it still feels a bit dodgy as a metric. So everybody above SCL whatever has to play in 8-10. Of course those lock outs don’t apply to PvE…
And I don’t wanna be mean here but they caused this issue but are now resorting to the most convenient method for themselves to resolve this. I guess that is all they have the manpower to do but that doesn’t make it fair or proportional.
