"Essential" characters

I used to be bummed whenever I saw an event that had nodes requiring a specific character. I just knew I was missing out on those extra points that would help boost me to the upper tiers!

However, I’ve managed to still place fairly decently in my brackets, and have since built up a reasonably varied roster (kinda kicking myself for selling some covers early on, not realizing the synergistic opportunities when certain characters are teamed, but live and learn).

Now that I have many of these characters, though, when I see those extra nodes and discover that I have the necessary character, I find myself thinking “Aw, shit, more nodes to grind.” icon_e_sad.gif

Anyone else find themselves feeling this way?

In episode 4.5, Yelena is mentioned a lot … so I’ve kept some Yelena covers just in case she’s an essential character somewhere.

Just save 500 iso, she seems to be all I’m pulling with standard tokens lately. Of course that’s only because I don’t need her

Yelena doesn’t make D3 any $. So she will never be an essential character.

Yeah, history has shown that only rare 3/4* characters will ever be Essential for events. Currently, that’s Daken. Sentry and maybe Nick Fury will be next.

Half a dozen rounds of PVP will get you at least one Yelena cover - or Venom icon_e_biggrin.gif

Cap** was required once in the Brotherhood event. It was weird but we didn’t have lazyCap then icon_eek.gif
IW was required once even earlier and never since, and I hope she never will be.

O’rly?

  • In second Hunt one of Florida essentials nodes needed a Mokay (it was the main reason why I added him to my roster)
  • In first Hunt, first two runs of Hulk episode and in the Brotherhood episode some nodes needed ** Cap
  • In Brotherhood episode in essentials missions also needed **Storm and Magneto.
  • Plus, I think **Cap and Moonstone needed in first two runs Unstable Iso chapter, when this characters was introduced

So, should not talk about that history shows, if you know its bad.
