New Character - Franken Castle (Amalgamation) 5*

Yes m, 4Pun.

Cool, cheers. Now hopefully they sort this mess out.

I’m sorry you dislike Thrasher.

I loved the character…

I didn’t like the skateboard, but I overlooked that because of other aspects of the character.

To make it relevant-adjacent I’ll give three examples etched into my brain, starting with one involving Frank.

Punisher underestimated him and he persevered.

Spiderman made fun of him and he kept his focus.

He had no powers but led a team of superpowered heros.

There was depth to his story.

Apologies.

I reread my post and it sounds more offended than I intended.

My intent was to explain my perspective. I didn’t mean to insinuate that you were targeting me.

I’m glad you liked the arc with this character. I have a stack of punisher comics but must have this version.

And that is what I was trying to say (in my usual very bad way of doing so) that these characters all mean different things to all of us. I can totally appreciate you like Night Thrasher, he was pretty well written and was what the fans wanted at the time, I couldn’t get past the cheesy concept but that didn’t ever make him not worth having. So I really hope we get the Thrash, just in the same way I really hope we get some of the very silly goofball characters that I love. We have space for them all (OK not Deathcry or evil Teen Tony…)

I get that.

I’d love to have Speedball/Penance in both forms and at least one of those forms is very goofy looking.

I think I’m just in a dry spell where I haven’t been excited about a character in a while.

Frankencastle hasn’t hit my phone yet (apparently he has for some) but I’ll withhold further judgement until I can play him.

Please give me Robbie! Hell, make Neils a 2* to fit in with the other ridiculous animal characters that are in there.

Just logged back in and its raining frankencastles

Glad the season pass wasn’t the new one when I was playing earlier I hate the quantum realm level of infinite pursuit . Will start season pass stuff tomorrow.

Guess I will log in later and get Franken-Castle.

How come we don’t get clues anymore @S0kun?

I’ll guess the next 4*, in time for Spider Noir on May 27: Tombstone!

I’m going with his origin story.

Spectacular Spider-Man, Issue #139, June 1988. Cover Artist: Sal Buscema

But if we go with the winner of the poll, then Man-Thing. Although I think he should be a 5*

Man-Thing, Issue #1, November 1979. Cover Artist: Jim Mooney.

I think the poll winners usually take a little while to be released

Also, you know darn well this game can’t resist another spider-verse character so unless it’s Spider-Tombstone I think we’re heading toward Noir himself, hopefully with a Nicholas Cage costume:joy:

I truly recommend this arc if you have a way to read it. It’s a little bit silly but very fun!

I didn’t think there’d be so many “who” reactions to Frankencastle! I thought everybody knew about this one, at the very least in a “do you remember that time those idiots at Marvel turned the Punisher into Frankenstein?” way.

Don’t worry. Can’t scare me off that easy.
I was just on extended leave and this week I’ve been playing catch up with everything. Jeto being eyes and ears for us has helped a lot.

But thank you. We appreciate that. We do get where people are coming from with being frustrated and not trusting easily. It’s our job to take feedback on board, and keep moving. Characters can be a bit of a weird case because there’s definitely solid mechanical elements and how each new one interacts with the meta (or doesn’t), then the “cup of tea” factor.

We also know there’s still a huuuuuuge wealth of characters people want to see. (And characters like Hypno-Hustler that I assume literally no one except me wants to see…)

How could we NOT want Hypno Hustler?!?!?

Saturday Night Terror! I love it!

I was going to ask how they ever got away with calling him Speedball but then remembered it was the 80s, he was probably lucky he wasn’t called The Snort or something…

You called?

So having played a few matches with him, it seems quite hard to get anywhere with the rage stuff. Mine is only 2/2/2 so possibly that improves with covers and levels. His animations seem quite fun and they tell a story I think - for his red he clearly went to the gas* station to fill up but then disgusted with the price at the pump he throws away his gas can and then destroys the gas station on his purple animation! IP2 are telling a tale of the times at the razor edge of the news front, bravo!
