Well this season’s SHIELD SIM has the worst progression awards since they added more 3s and a 4. The worst cover for Colosuss, Hulk, and Human Torch. At least there’s purple Antman, 2nd cover for most players but they really dropped the ball with this one overall. I was hoping for black BP, Purple IF, and Red Cyclops.. Oh well. I’m taking it easy this Season, I don’t need GSBW Green and 10pks don’t entice me enough.
Last season my SHIELD Simulator-specific team of (210, 5/5/3) Devil Dinosaur / (152 3/1/3) Carnage / (140 5/3/5) Doc Octopus got to ~1920 before getting monstered back down to ~1200. This season I’m sticking with the same team, but Doc is now 5/5/3 and level 166.
Marvel.com: When do we get to recruit the former Falcon for ourselves?
Joe Fletcher: Sam Wilson (Captain America) will be available in the upcoming run of Unstable Iso-8 that starts on August 20th, with a Versus Tournament following up a little bit after. He’s also going to be the Season 18 Alliance reward prize as well, so there will be plenty of ways to add him to your roster.
I need most covers that are offered during the seasons. The heroic covers help when I don’t get 2* overload with them. But the
would finish him off at 5/4/4. Plus the
would finish off her green for me. But I can average about 6500 through whole season. I would love to pick up a second
so he’s a little better. But I want me 3* finished before I do 4*. The alliance I’m in is usually top 250 which is nice for the hp and iso.
Is it feasible to get to 2000 in the Shield sim with only 166s? I really want that Ant-Man cover, but last season I couldn’t pop my head over 1600-ish without getting dogpiled.
yes ive done it every season since they introduced 4* into sim as shown by my stream and youtube, you’re getting dogpiled because you have a target on your head. Learn when it’s appropriate to go higher or shield to bypass getting attacked.
I did it last two seasons with 120s. I found my equilibrium, where was point neutral with defensive wins and losses, to be around 1700. The last climb is the key part. I needed to shield hop to do it both times. I would queue up three 50+ point fights and boost to win them fast. This would get me to about 1900. I would shield and then repeat. For the last run you want to time it to be off hours or at the end if some other event. This will reduce the likelihood of getting hit. The sim isn’t as active as a normal pvp so hits and retals don’t come as fast so you may not need to shield. I thought that 75 hp for a 4* cover was a bargain though. Also, don’t wait until the end to climb to 2k. The longer you wait the more active the sim gets. You want there to be enough people with high scores to be able to get good fights but not wait so long that you get caught by stronger teams climbing and hitting you as an easy target.
What team are you running and what level? That could also be an issue.
ideally you’d want to do it about the end of the second week of the season or beginning of the third week. that gives plenty of time for points to be in the system and not quite the bloodbath yet of the end of the season. in the meantime just play a match here or there - lots of 60 pt matches to be found to casually work up to ~1500 or so.
Thanks for the advice, all. I’m currently hovering around 1300 and my plan is to try for the big push in about a week, maybe a little later. My current list of maxed 3*s:
Got several others max-covered and between 120-140, but probably won’t max any of them between now and the end of the season. My primary sim team has been Patch/Cyke running with either Daredevil or Doom. I’m open to suggestions on other combos, but for speed and offense given my current roster I’ve found that group to be most effective.
Absolutely, just be expecting some losses once you get there. I’ve been trying to hit 2000 sim and 4000 season around the same time, so the losses don’t matter as much.
