The bug will remain a few more days. Players will grind the current PvE non stop until scaling has enemies in 3 and 400 level range. With 2 or 3 days left in the event, the bug will be fixed and players will be stuck with super powerful, high level opponents at full strength.
I am assuming their resources are allocated to fixing the purchase resources bug first. That one is money directly in their pocket. Or maybe I’m overly jaded.
With 24 hours subs, they scaling seems to reset to normal with each new sub. So while the scaling is a bit ridiculous at the 2 hour mark (especially if everything was working), it starts normal on the next subs.
If that’s the case, we would only be stuck until the subs change. Or am I missing something?
Cynicism is fine but if that is what they’re doing (and I suspect it might be the case too) it makes sense to sort it out ASAP. Fixing that first is going to result in far fewer disgruntled customers than a gameplay bug that is actually semi-beneficial.
I suspect this is the case. Clearly the base level bug only affects certain environments and nodes, and TUs. I can’t say for sure it came about with the update, I believe it did. If that is the case, it will almost certainly need to be fixed with an update, which would explain the delay.
From what I noticed all the charaters viewed in someone else’s roster suffers from this bug. Pull someone in XMen up and admire their level 166 characters doing 300 damage with their strongest moves. It is definitely in effect for all villians of Iso 8 Brotherhood.
One concern I have is app updating is voluntary. Does that mean that those that don’t update can continue to have easy runs in PVP and PVE? Don’t get me wrong I’m updating now but what stops people from not updating and contuing to benefit?
The argument they will wreck their mmr is not an issue if the enemy never hits above base attack.
For those complaining about 3 days to fix, welcome to the world of software development. A fix can take no time to resolve but testing, packaging and deploying a fix takes time. Then you have to deal with platform release limitations, Apple for instance are a pain in the Ares to deal with.
There is nothing to not stop people from not updating as of now, but like any update, the game will eventually force you to update in a couple days. Enjoy the low damage while you can!
And when this bug went in during the R59 update, mobile players were penalized until they were able to update. Nobody walked uphill both to and from school as a kid, despite the stories they tell.
